How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Breakfast could have more variety of foods, greater quality of the fruits and better coffee. I absolutely disliked the coffee with the milk drink we get from the machine. It tastes bad and it's sweetened also. Not a good way to start my day!
I liked the hotel's location, the spacious room and the friendly breakfast and front desk workers. Upon arrival I was greeted with a bottle of water and a small pastry in my room. That was a nice touch. Also like the fact that there's a coffee machine in the room so I could enjoy my first coffee of the day!

This is an aging hotel and it shows. The wear and tear gives it an air of needing a thorough cleaning.
Good location. Spacious room and comfortable bed. Staff was very responsive to some minor issues. Remote control had dead batteries and the first room we checked into had a housekeeping problem. We were swiftly moved to a nicer room with apologies.

Room wasn’t set up for three people, only two bath towels and two coffee cups and two glasses etc. went to call room service and found out phone was not connected. Parking lot was a mouse maze to access. Genius level three and still had to pay for breakfast. TV volume did not work. If you travel enough you have stays like this once in a blue moon.
Room was clean and comfortable. Bed was the bomb, slept like a rock. Check in check out was straightforward. Breakfast was a good mix.

nothing really
Very nice hotel. Clean, spacious and also very quiet, which was perfect to us. We arrived before normal check-in time but room was already available for us so really nice to have a rest before going to town centre. Staff was very polite and helpful both on site and some communication before we arrive. Overall, very happy with our stay at this Hotel.

Although there has been some up grading of public spaces the superior rooms on the top floor, which cost extra, could benefit from new carpeting and bathroom fittings.
Location, accessibity and excellent staff. A medium sized traditional hotel on a quiet street at the edge of the old town and city centre. Close to bus and train stations.

A very long check in process. But no big deal.
Nice big room and bathroom and huge bathroom. Our previous booked accommodation was shocking and had to book this hotel at the last moment.

Some parts of the hotel are looking just a little bit tired. However, I understand that it will close temporarily in November 2024 for redecoration.
This is a very comfortable hotel which fully deserves its 4* rating. The rooms are spacious and nicely furnished and we found the beds comfortable. There is a nice bar which was very reasonably priced. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the hotel is clean. We hope to come back for a third stay.

Tv volume didn’t work. Carpet not clean. Waited in line to pay in the bar and local jumped the line and it was tolerated.

The room was fine, the bed was very comfortable. The location was great, close to all the attractions and numerous restaurants were nearby. The front desk staff were fabulous, making great recommendations such as where to eat etc.

Nothing was disappointing. It was a good stay in a mid priced hotel.

The rooms were a little bit dark (it was always necessary to have all the lights on), the external structure of the hotel probably deserves renovation as it is obsolete. By my side no other improvement area to be fixed :-)
Size of the room was perfect, high level of cleanliness, central location of the hotel, very relaxing panoramic view from the windows, very fast check-in and check-out service, free parking in the hotel area, staff was available and so king in explaining us the right advices to visit Coimbra in only one day.
