You have a lot of stairs(4 floors+2 in the apartment) in order to get to the top floor apartment. Not recommended for elderly.

Could have been a person to meet or at least show a face as all comms were done via whatsapp. TV channels were a bit underprovided for.

The location is excellent and very central and close to the boardwalk and city center but because of the park across from unit it was serene and soothing. Madeira is a beautiful island and very relaxing.

The fact that there is no elevator may be a challenge to some to carry large luggage up a few flights but we made out okay. Took us a minute to understand the garbage and recycling room experience.

We loved the apartment and it was equipped well for our needs.It was a good central location convenient for shopping and great restaurants. The communication was very good with the staff and they were quick to respond when I had a question or a need such as a taxi to the airport which they do offer. Loved the historic nature of the apartment and access to the Blandy Wine facilities.

It was on the 3rd floor with lots of steps. The rooms were labeled with the name of wine but we never were told that just room 3. The shower was broken but they replaced it quickly. In the living room there was door stop that needs to be moved. My husband nearly broke his toe on it.

It was beautiful and so spacious. The outside deck was small but nice with a view. Had laundry and everything you needed in the kitchen including an espresso machine.

We stayed on the first floor, so we could hear people walking up the stairs outside the door, as well as the neighbors above. The apartment could use a little refresh; for example, the paint on the bathroom door was peeling. The floors were also squeaky. Unfortunately, the floors were dirty when we arrived – we couldn't walk around in socks because they got dirty quickly.

The rooms were very spacious and large. The location is perfect – right in the center of Funchal. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need. Communication with the staff was pleasant and quick. There is also paid parking available right next to the hotel.

The apartment is a little warn, with very creaky floors. Some of the decorative window trimmings have come off.

Very large, well presented and furnished apartment with everything needed for a family. The kitchen and large dining table were perfect for eating-in. The laundry with washing machine was super handy, with Madeira's warm climate allowing clothing to air dry easily. The location is superb - central, easy 5-10 minute walk to everywhere in old Funchal. A few minutes walk to shopping centre and supermarket.

Creaky floorboards. So noisy when you walk day & night. Needs more medium saucepans for boiling pasta etc. only 2 wine glasses.

It was quite noisy - traffic and noise from outside. From inside - people walking on the wooden floors above our apartment. Also people coming in and out the apartment block door. We were on the first floor and unfortunately I'm a light sleeper.

The floor needs to be substitute with a brand new - it gets very noisy during the night whatever someone walks through. Watch out with the floor after taking a shower, since it gets very splippery.

Location is absolutely incredible. You have a huge house with a lot of amenities.

There were no towels provided, and even after calls, we were only provided with two bath sheets, which had to last us a whole week. The coffee machine did not work, part of the washing machine was broken, but we still managed to get it to work eventually. The lights outside the apartment door did not work, which made operating the entry code on the keypad very difficult, this was reported, but no action was taken during our stay.

The location was superb, but as we already familiar with Funchal, it was what we expected.

Some carpets were dirty and we didn’t have a vacuum cleaner to clean them ourselves so after 5-6 days I really wanted to clean the carpet under the table..

This is NOT about the property itself but it was frustrating to be getting mixed messages and communication. The description of property facilities in relation to parking it says - Private Parking is possible at a location nearby (reservation Needed) and costs €5 per day. However when I contacted the property I was told this property doesn’t have a parking place. When I questioned again stating what is on the site I was given the name of two car parks near by but I would have to reserve myself. When we arrived at the Lodges I read in the Welcome/ information folder in regards to Parking- “in case you need a  place in the car park. You must ask us directly so we can provide you with an access card and location plan. This service has a daily cost of €4.50 is also stated that the parking card should always be left in the mailbox of your apartment at the time of checkout.” I called the person responsible for Our check in and she asked me was it already booked. When I say no she told me she would contact the reservations team and they would call me. I heard nothing else further. We did get ourselves sorted with a 24 hour car park 10 minutes walk away for €4 per day. We could have paid €9 per day at the one 2 doors down but it opens 8am to 8pm and we were leaving at 4am on the last day.

Spacious apartment that is very nicely furnished and up to date. The photos are very accurate. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds are very comfortable. Good pressure in the shower and plenty of hot water. The location is excellent. The Lodges are in the heart of the town facing a beautiful park and within easy walking distance to the supermarket and many wonderful restaurants. It was very quiet at night.
