Nothing that comes to mind, except that the wifi didn't work that well upstairs where the rooms are however it did work alright in the common living area and the kitchen.

Great view, parking close by, cleanliness, there was a kitchen available, laundry service, great hosts, quiet place, close to the calheta beach. Bonus points that the Artists House is a sponsor of a local animal shelter!

An exceptionally good choice of hotel! Starting with the Caleta area—very picturesque in the southwestern part of the island, but quiet and cozy (we didn't consider Funchal right away, as we wanted to be away from parties and the city in general)—to the house itself and its owner. The owner deserves a special mention, as he donates the profits from renting out the house to an animal and bird shelter! Thank you for meeting us (due to some issues with car rental in Funchal, we arrived much later) and for being so open to conversation! By the way, the house has a name for a reason, but I won't reveal it here)) The house has clear rules of residence, which makes the stay there comfortable and environmentally friendly for all cohabitants, with whom, by the way, we also had a great time over dinner. As for our room, it had a bathroom with an ocean view. That's all I need))) I love having a bath in the bathroom! It's incredibly cool, especially after German apartments)) This vacation in Madeira will forever be something special and warm in our lives! We are very grateful for the hospitality and will definitely come back with friends!

The best accommodation we experienced in Madeira. A wonderful host with great energy, lots of helpful tips, and an incredible story that truly reflects the house itself. The place is very well maintained, with a stunning view from the terrace where you can watch the sunsets. I definitely recommend staying here :)

Between seasons, it's cold, and there are no heaters (but we got a great additional blanket). Hot water sometimes stops, and you need to wait 5-10 minutes for it to return. If you fill in the bath - it might end up dead cold if you're not monitoring it. Everything else is minor: Parking is on the street - everybody does it, but there is no rain cover or protection from passing cars. There are no pant/skirt hangers with clips (but plenty of usual ones). Pay attention that some rooms DO NOT have private bathrooms. It would be perfect if heaters, hot water, and hangers could be fixed.

The location is excellent. The host is friendly and welcoming. The rooms are big and well-decorated. It's very comfortable.

If you arrive in winter, don't forget to take warm clothes - on island they don't usually have the heating inside the buildings.

It's a bit up on the hill and need the car to do stuff and get food

Ludgero is a very nice person, always available for help and kind to ease your holiday. The house has an amazing view over the sea and the valley. The rooms are quite comfy.

I am pleased to share my opinion about this unique place! The building impresses at first glance - its exterior architecture is beautifully maintained and eye-catching. The interiors are equally impressive - every detail is carefully thought out, and the atmosphere combines elegance and coziness. There is an impeccable order everywhere, which testifies to the great commitment of the owner. He is an extremely hospitable and caring person, always ready to help and take care of every detail so that guests feel their best. Perfect stay in a well-kept house. Very clean room as well as shared areas, such as kitchen & bathroom. The view from my room towards the sea was breathtaking. Furthermore, I was grateful having had the opportunity to use the washing machine. Ludgero has a very welcoming personality. I certainly would stay again here.

Lovely house well located outside of the main city. Beautiful view to the ocean, the house was clean during our stay and the owner was always there for us whenever it was a question or a concern. We would totally come back here. Also the pictures of all the artists and their signature is amazing. Thank you boss man
