Everything was wonderful. The pool has fresh spring water which makes it amazing to swim in, but it is not heated. When we come next we will bring wet suits for our young children as they got a little cold some days in the pool when the sun wasn’t shining (although fine for adults!)

Beautiful property in a wonderful location. Sebastião our host could not have done more for us. The pool was absolutely amazing and we loved sitting out on the terrace in the evening and enjoyed a couple of BBQs as well. The property feels very private. The property is very handily located for so many excursions. We rented a car (and so handy to have EV charging on site!) but there is a bus stop at the bottom of the drive to the property. We took a lovely trip to the beach (on Sebastião’s recommendation) and it was only 25 minutes drive away. A fantastic spot for a relaxing break!

The view from the pool was amazing and the rooms were 5 star. Every detail was thought of from Towels to utensils. Sebastião was an amazing host and really made it feel like a home away from home.

The pool was a very good size. Fed by a clean spring without the chemicals. The terrace has a fantastic view across the Douro Valley. An old farm building lovingly restored with a clean modern interior. Even the two en-suite showers had great views.

The stay was absolutely fantastic. The property itself is stunning, with beautiful orchards and amazing views, and it is located very close to Porto (25 min drive or so). The villas are also very nice - they have a great private pool, and the interior have everything you need (i.e., good kitchen and appliances, AC, nice bathrooms). The host Sebastião was also an added bonus - he was so helpful and truly does want to make the guests’ stay as nice as possible. Would definitely recommend and if we make our way back to Porto we will be staying there

Nothing. This place is perfect.

We were warmly greeted by the owner Sebastiáo. He gave us a tour of the entire property, and even drove us around the village identifying all the important places. He also took us grocery shopping and acted as our guide and translator. This property and the host are simply fantastic. Sebastiáo also made recommendations and made dinner reservations for us. My wife celebrated her birthday during our stay. Sebastiáo brought her a BD cake. Wow!! This is simply the best villa with the best host. If I could, I would give this stay at Tapada de Sao Domingos 12 stars out of 10. Michel and Lynn

Our villa was on a beautiful estate near the Douro river. Having breakfast in the morning with views on the hills and river was a wonderful start of the day. The property was quite large and beautifully maintained. The location was perfect as we could combine visits to Porto city with a comfortable and relaxing stay in the middle of beautiful nature. Our host Sebastiao welcomed us personally and even give us a quick tour in the area to show is the local bakery, super market and restaurants. He was available at all times for other tips and support.

Location worked fine for us, we went on day trips and got bus into Porto and taxi home. No walkable shops or restaurants from the house but lots of peace and great place for kids to play ball games and have fun.

Everything was taken care of as soon as I booked the housing. The house was very clean and well appointed. The property was very big and there were a lot of things to explore. And the host was/is the most kind person I've ever met. He took care of EVERYTHING. I even got a cake for my birthday. Thank you for this special birthday trip.

The only issue we had was the Wifi not working. Sebastiao came back a few times to help fix it but it didn't seem to hold up.

Our stay at Tapada De Sao Domingos was amazing! We were a group of 20 so had rented three villas for three nights, and it was perfect. The views, amenities, location from Porto and most importantly - the phenomenal host! Sebastiao was super responsive before and during our stay - helping us with groceries, taxis, the local areas and any other questions we had. I'd highly recommend this for anyone looking to explore Porto and the surrounding Duoro Valley, it was a fantastic base and we all hope to come back again soon!

A couple of extra rolls of toilet paper! (Haha) Not sure if it’s possible or even practical - but since we were there between cold and hot weather, it would have been nice to have had screens in windows/doors so we could open them up to let fresh air in without fear of something flying/walking in.

The location was perfect. We wanted to stay outside of town and the villa was beautiful with a great view. Spotlessly clean with a well equipped kitchen and a host that was so welcoming and helpful. We went in March so the pool was chilly but we used it anyways! In spite of arriving hours earlier than planned, Sebastião handled it in stride and took us a on a tour of the local area and got us our welcome basket of fruit and other local food items. He answered our many questions that cropped up during the week. We had an issue with the smoke detector the first evening that Sebastião fixed promptly (he’s just up the hill!) And we made freshly squeezed orange juice from the trees on the property everyday!
