Clean room. Warm welcome from staff. The roof terrace was an added bonus. Plenty of towels, good shower, comfortable bed. Fridge with welcome wine. The location is excellent. Easy to walk to marina, Old Town, plenty of restaurants.

The only thing I didn’t like is that there were no basic condiments available, like olive oil, or pepper—which can be hard to buy just for a short stay of three days. (Salt is ok)

The service is exceptional—every staff member is genuinely friendly and attentive. The rooftop terrace is a real highlight: so pleasant in the evening when the air cools down, and the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the views over Faro. All the facilities are top-notch, the bed is incredibly comfortable, and the room itself is spacious with an impressive shower. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Faro!

We had a truly lovely stay at Solar Mendonça. The location is excellent – right in the center of Faro, just a short walk from the ferry terminal, the bus station, and many great local restaurants and cafés. Despite being so central, the place is peaceful and feels like a calm retreat. The rooms were spotless and tastefully decorated, with very comfortable mattresses. We appreciated the extra pillows and blankets provided in the room. The bathroom was well-equipped, especially for female travelers – shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion were all available and of good quality. Communication with the hotel management was outstanding. Everything was prepared in advance – we received all the access codes for the building and the room ahead of time, and we each had two key cards, which was very convenient. There’s also a rooftop terrace where you can sunbathe or relax. Although we didn’t use it much because we were mostly at the beach, we noticed the hotel thoughtfully provides special towels for the sun loungers. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily return. It’s a cozy, clean, and well-run place that feels like home in the heart of Faro.

This beautiful boutique hotel is an absolute hidden gem! The staff go over and beyond to help! The cleanest and most modern room we have stayed in for many a year! Late check out was no problem! We will return here when we next stay in Faro! An absolute credit to the owner!

We had a wonderful three-day stay at this modern hotel next to the city-center. The room was very nice, with a spacious, well-designed bathroom and beach towels were also provided! A real highlight was the rooftop terrace with sun loungers and tables available to all guests – the perfect spot to enjoy the bottle of white wine that was waiting for us in the room as a welcome gift! The reception was very warm and welcoming - thank you for that! We also had the pleasure of briefly meeting the owner of the hotel, which was a lovely and enriching experience. Such a kind and inspiring person! We’d be happy to come back! Obrigada e até à próxima!

Absolutely loved our stay – felt like a second home! Everything was spotless, cozy, and welcoming—truly no complaints. From the moment we arrived, it just felt right. We were greeted with a bottle of wine, which was the perfect way to kick off the holiday after a flight. We’d asked for a couple of extra duvets since we're used to sleeping under separate ones—didn’t end up needing them, but the staff handled the request quickly and without fuss. Special shoutout to Filipe—what a legend! From the first moment, he showed us around and instantly felt more like a friend than a hotel staff member. He went above and beyond, even making us personalized lists of restaurants and places to check out. We didn’t make it to all of them, so we’re already saving some spots for next time. Hope to see him again on our next visit! The room had everything: bathrobes, slippers, ironing board with iron, coffee machine, teapot, hairdryer—you name it. Our room was cleaned daily with fresh towels, and honestly, that made it feel like a 5-star experience. Nothing beats coming back to a spotless room after a long day out exploring. And the cherry on top - the hotel has the coziest rooftop ever—perfect for sipping wine, reading a book, or just soaking in the sun. Loads of comfy seating and sunbeds.
