Property is a bit older but that is all part of the charm! We didn't get to use the pool and relaxing area because we were outdoors exploring the island, but the facilities look great.

Great little hotel in a beautiful, peaceful area. Awesome location to explore this side of the island. The staff was very friendly, greeted us with a warm welcome and toured us around and showed us our room upon arrival. The bathroom was renovated and modern, in great condition. Overall the hotel and our room were very clean and our stay was enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again. There is a restaurant downstairs and a nice simple continental breakfast is included. Free parking on site is also a great benefit.

The soundproofing was not the best, and the hotel windows facing the church bell tower made it difficult to rest at times

Comfortable location, very clean and well-maintained. The hotel has a restaurant, swimming pool, jacuzzi, and sauna (available for an extra charge). Breakfast was tasty, though we would have appreciated a bit more variety. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The sangria was wonderful!

All the personal were very friendly and helpfull. Very clean room, and the view is spectaculair. Also the accomodation is very clean, and as it is build in 1700 ara the vibe and feel is very authentic.

Evening meals were OK, nothing special - we had hoped to get more traditional Portuguese food. And because there was no other restaurant within walking distance, we found 3 nights eating at the same place a little boring. The jacuzzi wasn't hot enough, so you didn't want to stay in long. The floor going into the changing area was really slippery, so watch out for that.

Big bedroom (we stayed in the old part of the building), good choice of breakfast, lovely staff.

Seems like it's a known issue but the water kept spilling out of the shower and onto the floor. Just made for using more towels than necessary and counterintuitive in asking that we save water by reusing towels. Luckily we awoke early but that church bell over by the side we stayed is plenty loud. We also came back late at night and notices that the path to the side entrance should be lit earlier to make it safer for guests. And finally, not everyone locks that side door. We came back once and the door was ajar and unlocked; I secured it once we entered. Oh yeah, everything is lock and key. If you close your room door and leave, all you've done is closed the door. You have to actively lock doors in this place. I like that; we've just gotten away from it with all the tech. In closing, my ma didn't like that there was no one on-site overnight.

Breakfast was good! Continental style. We were there visiting fam so we went to local spots and didn't get to go dinner at the restaurant but it seemed awesome. The entire vibe of the place was awesome. We also had gorgeous weather throughout our stay. Pool, sauna and jacuzzi...very nice!

Everything was great: hotel is newly renovated, clean. Room was a little small, clean and comfortable. No AC, but it looks like, you do not need it, at least in October. Beautiful grounds. Good restaurant.

The hotel is very chic and has a relaxing vibe. I had a great time here and the stuff was very friendly. I recommend this place. The location is in a small village where there are two more restaurants / bars and you can also eat at the hostel restaurant. The breakfast is basic, but there are good fresh fruits which I really liked, it would be great if they could add some more vegan options You can reach the village with bus or by taxi, in case you do not have a car. The pool is nice and you can enjoy it after a hike in the area.

The wifi was weak in some areas of our room and the dining room. The hot tub was a little cool but the building the pool and hot tub was in was clean and so modern that it made up for it.

Great pool and grounds with many gardens, verandas, and porches to sit and enjoy the views. The hotel was very clean and comfortable with a lovely staff. There are two parking lots with free parking and many hikes within walking distance. We would definitely stay again. The staff was really helpful when we checked in last minute after finding our other accommodations infested with cockroaches.

It was very cold during nights. It would be useful to have duvets for sleeping, because there are only blankets. communication via booking, e-mail or telephone is difficult.

Solar de Boaventura is a great venue, with a beautiful garden (that smells pretty good as well). The pool facilities are a big plus. The room was clean and tidy, but the beds were a bit old. The pillows were way too thin, just bad (I wouldn’t call it pillows to be honest). The bathroom has enough space and was sufficient. I hate to say it, but the food at breakfast was pretty mediocre. And the rooms and hallway are quite noisy. Outside there is enough parking place. Looking back, Boaventura was a bit far away from activities I did (but with the short distances on the island that is not a big problem).
