Reviews of Sintra Small Hostel

Sintra Small Hostel has a very warm and cozy feel. The rooms are a nice size and very clean. Plenty of towels provided. Coffee and tea are available to make at any time in the kitchen, and George provides biscuits/cookies too. He let me use the washing machine and hang my clothes to dry too. The location of the hotel is nice too because it’s not in the center of town, so it’s nice and quiet. It’s about a 25 minute walk to the city center, but only a two minute walk to a few restaurants and coffee spots.

Really good place. Close to the sights above Sintra with a homely feeling and a pleasant host.

The shower could not be used and we had to go to another floor for this, so we decided to take an extensive bath during the next stay

Jorge is an amazing host! The rooms are very much clean and cosy, especially the beds - so confy that made it hard for us to wake up. The place keep it very portuguese and authentic, nothing pasteurized. I loved it.

No major or medium accidents. Although the bathrooms are shared, they are super clean. But as you cannot always control some of the guests, it would be helpful to have something like a cleaning spray for guests using after someone less caring.

The owner was super nice, welcoming and with an amazing attitude. At the day we checked out, later on that day, We were stuck in the city with no place to stay after we booked only for 1 night and the day after was already fully booked. He invited us to stay at the living room and made sure we are fine and sattled with another place to stay. An amazing person, kind and caring. We wont forget him for that.❤️

When we walked in, the house smelled very musty and there was a huge patch of mold on the wall in the bedroom. We tried to air out the room by opening the tiny skylight (the only window in the room) but it didnt help. I started having severe asthma attacks so we had to vacate the room and book a stay for the night in another hotel. Even though we did not spend the night, and had to leave due to the mold, the owner was very argumentative and refused to give us even a partial refund. I dont see how the ratings for this place are so high. We've stayed in a lot of hostils and this is by far the worst one (and ironically, the most expensive one, too!!)

We loved the atmosphere in the place and in its area. Everything was nearby and we had a magical stay, the room was perfect for us and very clean. The host is also so amazingly friendly!!!

The decor was so charming, and a peaceful atmosphere. Comfortable bed, very clean. Had everything we needed. Lovely views, great location and a friendly host.

One of the bathrooms wasn’t in working order, but the upstairs one was in very good condition so it wasn’t a problem.

The hostel looks amazing on the inside, it literally has a soul. It smells like my grandma's house in the woods. The owner is very nice and helpful.

The room was cozy and fit for the price. Jorge was helpful with communication and giving directions around Sintra. Highly recommended for a short stay!

The washer machine wasn’t working and the towels for showering were very small.

Absolutely lovely guest house. The host was very welcoming and attentive - truly such a kind man! The vibe of the whole house was warm and cozy. Perfect place to stay in sintra, and at such a great price!
