Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FinlandWe had 2 rooms. I one of the rooms there was no fridge and they could do nothing about it. They allowed us to put some things in their fridge at the reception but then they lost it. There was no extra bed in the room tough we had sent message about it and they had answered it's ok and we had also paid for it. After asking two times we finally got the extra bed late at night. We never managed to get extra towel, we asked for it many times. The price for extra bed was 30 euros per night (150 euros in total) so I think an extra towel for the third person was not too much to ask. They wanted to bring some extra food (cookies etc) to the room in the afternoon. To do this they entered the room tough there was the do not disturb -sign on the door. I one of our rooms there was a dog alone when they entered with the cookie plate. They had left the plate and the dog eated a piece of the plastic that covered the plate. We complained about this but they did not offer to give any compensation for any of these things that happened.
The garden/swimmingpool area was beautiful and the views from the terraces were wonderful. Dogs were allowed to the garden also and to the terrace of the restaurant. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the price of the food was very acceptable.

United KingdomNot enough staff covering the bar and resturant when it got busy. The pool side bar was only open for the last 2 days of our trip.
The pool was kept crystal clean. The room air con was very much appreciated. The staff were very friendly.

PortugalThe price of dinner in the hotel's restaurant is high; you can eat at nearby restaurants for half the price. The Wi-Fi signal in the room only worked near the door, it was impossible to work on a laptop in the room, so I had to sit in the hall. The staff was not very friendly to teenagers. When checking in, they tried to charge extra for children's breakfasts, although they are included in the room rate, and teenagers are charged at the adult rate. In the restaurant, children who entered first were forbidden to occupy a large table for the whole family. At breakfast, teenagers were ignored and never asked if they wanted an omelette; only adults were asked.
The hotel is in a picturesque place, some rooms (especially on the 1st floor) have a beautiful view of the river. The pool is large and clean, with a well-kept lawn in front of it, where a pleasant scent of pine trees fills the air. The atmosphere is very calm and relaxed.

PortugalI was surprised that there was no WIFI in the bedroom. The hotel seemed to be very short staffed. We waited for a long time at both the reception to check in / out. We again waited at the bar to get a drink, eventually having to go to the reception to inquire if the bar was open. It was, just no staff there at the time. The staff were polite, friendly and helpful, there just wasnt enough of them.
The location of the hotel is quite frankly amazing. Spectacular views over the river. Breakfast had a limited selection, but what was available was very nice.

PortugalNot disabled or old person friendly especially getting to and from the pool, the staff seemed at times a little disinterested in the guests but pleasant and helpful when interacted with. The breakfast was OK but they cooked small amounts at a time eg bacon so had to wait, not long but annoying
Very peaceful location, very good cleaning and maintenance staff.

SpainThe accommodations were a bit in need of an upgrade and there were many small, simple, but missed opportunities to make this a truly great experience. The balcony was great, but only had two mismatching wooden chairs, one of them rather rickety and uncomfortable. We had to sit on the bed pillows to make it more comfortable for a 45 minute sunset viewing. There was no table on the balcony. (solved by putting the coffee table from inside the room outside). Beds a good size and mattresses were OK,(not great, but better than some of the B&Bs), but the pillows were dismal: old, lumpy, thin and insufficient. one of the towels had a massive rip in it that really should have been caught by the housekeeping staff. The AC was only partially working and got the room a few degrees below outside temperatures at first, but later in the night we needed to open the balcony doors for some fresh air. The room had ample space but wasn't equipped with a coffee maker or water kettle, something that pretty much is a standard nowadays, certainly if you want to go up against the many B&Bs in the area. The bathroom was spacious and shower and water pressure great. The hairdryer was still one of the old wall mounted 'vacuum cleaner hoses' that almost belong in a museum by now and they still use the plastic mini bottles for amenities...shame on you, get with the times, help the environment and use wall mounted dispensers! Everyone else does! Dinner food quality was good, but the background music awful. Some depressing, dark, type of music that was better suited for a Goth themed club than a restaurant. It was stuffy in the restaurant and although the views were great, the windows were dirty, couldn't open and outside the cobwebs on the railing were disgusting to look at while eating (did match with the Goth music theme I guess).
The location of this property is great. It overlooks the lake and provides beautiful vistas. Our room's balcony made for a great place to watch the sunset. The grounds are well kept and there is a good sized pool. It was lovely and quiet. Just what we needed. We've stayed in a handful of other B&B type of accommodations in the Ribatejo area during this 10-day trip and although this was a standard hotel, the experience was similar and even better and more cost friendly then most of them. We booked in for dinner in the restaurant on the one night we had here and the food quality was good. In the next section you'll see some constructive feedback that may make it look like you shouldn't book this, but that's not the case. In pricing and location it was very competitive. Later in the year we'll be back in the area for a while and we decided to make this our primary location and hope that by then some things have improved by then. As we drive with our own car, I'll bring my own pillow next time. The good news in all of this is that the hotel is apparently changing ownership soon and guests and employees alike deserve a bit of an upgrade.

New ZealandStaring at the ceiling!
The room was spacious with a lovely view. I unfortunately injured my back before we arrived and the waiter in the restaurant showed great kindness. Reception staff also managed to keep our room for us for an extra day despite hosting a large function.

PortugalOnly the breakfast coffee which was horrible but this seems to be the case with most hotels currently . The rest of the breakfast was very good.
A very peaceful, well located hotel with a spectacular view of the nearby dam from the little terrace of our room . Rooms are very spacious and comfortable , parking and checkin /checkout very easy and the grounds and walkways around the hotel are both beautiful and tranquil. An ideal hotel for a relaxing and restoring break.

PortugalThe breakfast could have been better... We arrived at 9h30 and there were no eggs, no sausages, the bread was poor. And there was no one there to help us find a knife, for example. The hotel was not empty, there were several clients there. And few employees. The decoration is really outdated. The cleanliness could be much better. I know it was March, but... I asked for a king size bed and in fact the bed was big. But it was two beds join together and we had to sleep as it was two beds and not one, because the middle of the bed hurts. For a 4 star hotel, I think it is poor.
The location is the best part of this hotel: the view is really great! The room size is ok too. And the price for this is a good deal.

PortugalThe whole site has potential, but could do with some investment. The spa/gym space has a nice dedicated building with views, and located by the pool, but the building itself lacked ventilation (with the gym smelling damp) and the equipment was not fit for purpose. I could only give the breakfast a 6 out of 10, although the view over the lake was amazing.
Location is great for anyone who wants to trail walk or go for a swim in the lake. Nice views from the room balconies and the restaurant. Very friendly staff.

PortugalThe variety at breakfast was rather limited, with no options for hot food (e.g. eggs & bacon). The mattresses are not as comfortable as I am used to. There was hardly any place at the parking lot.
The view from the rooms and from the breakfast room was superb. The efficiency of the staff to check in was remarkable. The common room with a fireplace was rather cozy.

United KingdomThe room needs work: toilets seats are worn out, drains smell, curtains in the shower have mould. The coffee machine at the breakfast is poor- perhaps it needs filters clean. Rooms had only 3 hangers per room, and no ironing board available request: Reception team did their best to find one for us.

PortugalPerhaps some details could be improved, such as the gym machines available, or the snooker table. Perhaps because the hotel is already a few years old, you can see that these are details that have not been improved over time and have clear signs of a lot of use. But you can still use them, and other than that, the hotel is lovely. Recommend!
The view is amazing! Beautiful views over Zêzere, with plenty of quiet and nature around. The staff is very helpful and friendly, and contributed to some lovely days. The double bed room with river view is nice and spacious, the bed is very comfortable! Breakfast was also really nice, has many options (even soy milk).
