Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesTomas and the house staff are incredible. I arrived at Salt lips by accident but ended up staying for an additional four days because the accommodations were spacious, the bed were soft, and the breakfast was heavenly. In addition, the surf package made it affordable to catch some waves, get a good nights rest, and enjoy the lovely island of Sao Miguel.

LuxembourgUnfortunately, wifi didn’t work in our room for the last 3 days and this couldn’t be resolved.
The staff was exceptional ! They offered different daily activities like surfing, yoga, hikes. You can participate if you want to, such as for their dinners in the evening. Food was exceptional too. Dona Ana makes such a great breakfast. Top top top !!

ItalyThe surf house is a bit far away from the city center: you can go there by bus but It is much better to have a car, especially if you want to move around by night.
I spent two nights in this beautiful and very well-kept place: even if I had a private room, I really appreciated the shared breakfast and dinner, a good opportunity to make new friends.

SpainIt can be a bit challenging to get to the center of Ponta Delgada without a car, but the experience is definitely worth it, even if you’re walking or taking the bus. The bus stops in front of a big furniture store if you wave your hand. It's about a 1-minute walk from the place.
The vibe, condition of the house, and activities were great - BBQ, swimming pool, and a fully equipped kitchen with everything you could possibly need. There was a laundry and little extras like yoga mats, board games, skateboards, etc. Each room had a radiator, so even though it was February, the room was always warm. It was the staff and other guests that made this stay unforgettable - everyone was so welcoming, friendly, open-minded, and polite, and the staff did everything they could to help.

Czech RepublicBreakfast is not served during low season but also price is lower during low season. So it is OK. I would just appreciate to know it in advance - please mention it in detail of accommodation.
Very nice place. It is possible to park car in front of building. Owner and cleaning lady were very friendly.

NetherlandsI did not like the room itself - it is being sold as in-suite bathroom however it was a toilet and shower behind the curtain in the bedroom (where supposedly a closet should be). However, good thing was that there was also a shared a bathroom on the same floor, that we used (and not the in-suite one). if given an option, I would like to stay at the property but definitely not in the same room and I am not sure how is the toilet/bathroom situation in other rooms.
The villa is really nice. Host is very friendly. Kitchen amenities are good. Common area is very cozy with the dining table, sofas, board games and fire place. Balcony views from the room were really nice.

PortugalWe liked everything!
Salt Lips is an amazing place to stay on your vacation in the Azores - the staff is incredibly nice, and they are always available to help you. They provide daily tours and activities which makes the experience much more satisfying, as you know that you don't have to worry about anything. The house gives us a sense of community because you meet everyone during breakfast and create new friends. We loved our stay and we would come back, without thinking twice.

NetherlandsKitchen could do with an upgrade: broken oven and leaking fridge. Off season you might prefer having a hire car as it’s a little away from the city and easier to reach the beach and other places on the island.
Perfect winter stay in a beautiful mansion with all the comforts of home. Absolutely lovely staff who were super helpful and friendly, always taking the time for a quick chat and making recommendations for things to see on the island. Beds are comfortable, good private bathroom, reliable WiFi, full kitchen facilities. Pool in the garden with a lovely yoga area.

PortugalIt's a big walk to the city center, but I would say most of the people that go to São Miguel rent a car, so that won't be a problem for most of the visitors. Also, don't be put off because of that, because there are hourly buses just next door that connect to the city center, which was very helpful for me in the middle of a storm.
Perfect stay, totally recommend it. I was attending a game in the stadium next to the hotel, so for me the location was just perfect. The room was big and had everything that I needed for a great night, and all the facilities (full kitchen, lounge, swimming pool) were also very good for the price. There was a huge storm the day I stayed and the staff was incredibly helpful, saved me of getting totally soaked to the airport. Thank you, will stay again next time!

AustraliaWe could hear the front door closing and opening which was disruptive at times. Bathroom and room become quite damp after showers but this is also in part due to the island's high humidity. Everyone has breakfast together which is lovely but it means that if you need to leave earlier than 9 am, you will miss out.
The staff and guests at Salt Lips are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wish we could have joined more activities (yoga, surfing, island tour), but as we were not aware of this we had prebooked tours/rental car. The breakfasts and dinners were amazing. Lots of facilities such as pool table, swimming pool, lounge to keep you entertained. We were able to make use of the washing machine and dryer which was a lifesaver during our 6 week Europe trip.
