How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

No lift and stairs are quite steep, can be challenging if you have big suitcases. During our stay there was construction work right outside our windows. Wasn’t a big deal though as we were out during the day, and they made no noise before 10am.
Amazing location, in the heart of Lisbon. The bedroom felt luxurious and spacious with super comfortable beds, newly renovated bathroom. Great facilities and everything was clean. Quiet at night. For that price, I would recommend it.

The staff were really great. Very informative and friendly. The location was amazing. This was our first time in Lisbon, and while the location was busy, it was perfect for all the site seeing. The cleaners were lovely and did an amazing job and kept the place clean and tidy. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

The downside was the staircase. We were given 2nd floor and had to carry our heavy luggage up was inconvenient.
Convenient location and the housekeeping done everyday.

We were not told that we could not see out the windows. Covered with mesh and scaffolding. we would not have stayed if we had known this.

Amazing hospitality, we felt home away from home instantly. The location is perfect, the room was spacious and quiet, we could wash and dry our laundry. Lots of lovely restaurants in the area. I recommend this place to anyone!

We are just mad at ourselves for not booking an extra night and spending more time in Lisbon.
Lovely friendly reception, room was available earlier than expected and no problem with storing luggage if you arrive earlier. Receptionist is an excellent communicator. Apartment right in the middle of Lisbon city, it was spotless with everything available for self catering. Bed was so comfortable, and air conditioning was very welcomed!

The stairs to the room are not good if you're not in good health or have heavy luggage. The building is under renovation, and even when the owner advised us in advance, it was inconvenient.
The location is excellent—near restaurants, shopping, a train station, and everything else. The room was bigger than a hotel room and spotless, and the staff was fantastic, friendly, and professional.

Rénovation work on the building made it so I couldn't see out the window (normally an amazing view of the placa). Can get noisy there. The double glazed windows block most of the noise, but I am a light sleeper, so I still needed ear plugs which worked perfectly.
Placed perfectly for tourism and easy access to the most popular neighborhoods. The room was big and very comfortable. Mini kitchen a definite plus, although I did not really use it. I was met on time to get my keys and she was very helpful and kind.

The apartment can be a bit noisy at night because it is right next to Praça do Rossio. However, given the advantages of the location, a bit of noise is an ok trade off.
The apartment is in a great location and everything was very clean. Housekeeping attended each day.

Norhing to mention, good quality and price.
Amazing location! The room was very spacious, loved the small kitchen area, we could make ourselves some coffee and breakfast easily. The location is just incredible if you are a tourist, you can just pop in during the day to recharge for half an hour, as the place is in the middle of the tourist places. The apartment was also very clean, staff was very friendly and helpful.

The coffee machine was hopeless. Perhaps not fair to complain about it in the review as we didn't bother letting the host know there was a problem. There are many places to get good coffee a short walk from the apartment.
Very central but quiet from street noise. We also had little internal noise. It was a comfortable base for our stay.
