It is not about the place, which itself is perfect but bear in mind that the place is 850 metres a.s.l. That means that there is at least 4-5 degrees below the temperature at the sea. And sometimes you are literally seating on the terrace in the middle of the cloud (see my pictures) Again - it is nothing against the place - it is absolutely perfect and the indoor pool helps (otherwise it would be kind of difficult to swim when outside temperature was e.g. 18 degrees) and maybe it was the specific weather we had during our stay (third week of August) but I think it is just good to know that it is not the seaside location for the heat and sun lovers 🙂 If you are not one of them and want to spend your holiday in a lovely house - do not hesitate to book.

Lovely, spacious, modern and clean houses. Very quiet surroundings. Close to the sea (by car) and to Rabacal where you can start your hiking. Big terrace. We loved the place. The pool is indoor, which is very good - see below

We liked everything, but be prepared to not be in the centre of everything- quite the opposite. But we loved that part!

The property is located on top of the clouds 😁 you wake up with the best views and are surrounded by tranquility, we looked forward to returning to the place every night after a busy day of exploring to settle in and have a glass of wine with the view and peacefulness:) also you are super close to one of the best trails on the island! The kids loved the indoor pool, since you are a bit higher up, the temperature go down a bit so indoor pool was perfect for the early morning or late evening swims before or after we have return home.

I loved everything about the property. Bathroom could have used some towel racks or hooks to dry larger towels. Maybe a comfy reading chair in the living area. Also, better warning to NEVER turn Left out of the property or let navigation direct up/down that way. VERY steep like 40° incline, single lane and no one around if the car cannot get up the incline and very scary!

So peaceful, quiet, remote and beautiful. Loved the welcome treats!

I should have taken up Garry's offer to meet somewhere en-route to the property on arrival - Google Maps had a bad opinion on the right 'road' to take! Not Garry's fault at all, but a warning not to trust Google Maps would be welcome.

Garry was a great communicator both before and during the stay. The accommodation was clean, spacious and well appointed.

Getting there felt remote but then we loved it

There is a beautiful pool, though the only downside is that it isn’t heated—so on cooler autumn days, we didn’t use it as much.

We had a wonderful stay at Rochão Village. The accommodation is nestled in the hills, offering beautiful views and complete privacy. It’s the perfect place to disconnect from daily life. The apartment was very clean and fully equipped—there was nothing we missed during our stay. Catarina, the host, was incredibly helpful throughout and made us feel special. Thank you so much; we will definitely be back!

The swimming pool is not heated, its temperature end of October was too low to enjoy it much.

The house is spacious, clean, offers many amenities (fully equipped kitchen, tabs for both washing machine and dish washer, etc). It is located in a very quiet area and has an amazing view. We received all information in advance through WhatsApp which was very useful. We even got a nice welcome basket. Catarina answered all our questions very promptly in a professional and friendly manner. Overall: great stay!

Super clean accommodation with all appliences you may need including few coffee capsules as wells as dishwasher ones to start with. We also used washing machine and dryer which worked very well. It has amazing view from the terrase. Swimming pool temperature was good, not warm but not cold either. We were very happy with our stay.

Was a little difficult to find at first as it’s tucked away but we liked the quiet of the location. A bit of a drive to good restaurants but we didn’t mind. The washer and dryer weren’t great and left stains on our clothes with hours of drying time. Something we were not used to. Nothing that would prevent us from returning. We loved it overall!

A stunning view from this adorable cottage. Kitchen was stocked with all of our needs. Property was clean, pool was great. Staff was quick to respond. Very comfortable for a family of 4! We hope to be back!

It was far from the beach, the weather was colder up there because of the mountains and the pool was not heated.

We really liked the challet and the place itself. It was quiet, with great views and with borrowed car we can go anywhere with no problem. The communication over the whatsapp was perfect, we also received nice gift for the beginning - tasty snacks of mainly local food. The beds were comfortable as well as outside sitting, the kitchen had all equipment we needed and even more ,-) The swimming pool is very nice with views, just the watter could be a bit warmer. But our litte one loved it anyway. We have also tried the nearby restaurant and the food was very yummy.

This property and the accommodations are excellent. Very close access (by car) to levada walks and Fanal forest areas. Levada Nova da Calheta can be walked both directions right from the property. We would definitely book again.

We had wonderful stay! Cottages are at nice slightly remote location where you can escape and relax. We truly felt like home there. The bonus is a swimming pool and very nice staff always happy to help with anything you need.
