Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyIf you don’t speak Portuguese, it’s not easy to communicate in English. But the lady receptionist was nice and patient. In a way or another we could understand each other.
You have all the keys, you can enter the hotel any time, day and night. The two shared toilets were nice and clean.

United KingdomThe entrance to the hotel requires you to press a button and then be let in. We weren't given a code to be able to enter the building, we were just at the mercy that the nice lady who let us in was there to let us in every time. I think check-in was until 00:00 and check out started at 04:00 so I'm not sure if anyone would be there to let you through the main door during this time.
It was cheap, you get what you paid for. I would recommend this if you are staying in lisboa for one or two nights. It's not a room you'd spend a lot of time in, more just to sleep and shower in. I'd you're looking to spend a week in lisboa, I would recommend a larger room. The room is small and the bathroom is very tight but it did the job. The noise levels were not bad once the windows were closed, it was an easy room to sleep in with comfortable beds and a fan! The lady who gave us the keys and checked us out was very nice and friendly.

CanadaI think I got what I paid for - I waned an inexpensive hostel in a good location.
When you stay at a 35 - 45 Euro a night hostel downtown in a major city you are not going to get a palace. You should expect a small room with a shared bathroom. The Roxi delivered. My room was showing its age a bit, but it was clean and the location was excellent. The room did not have air conditioning, it had a fan, so be cautious if you are coming to Lisbon at a hot time of year.

SerbiaNoise insulation is very poor – the plastic windows don’t block out the street noise, so at times it can feel like you’re right outside. There’s also no air conditioning or any kind of cooling device, which can make the room quite uncomfortable on warmer days.
You get the experience of staying in a typical older Lisbon building, there’s even a sink and a bidet in the room.

CanadaEntrance is hard to find. Watch out for the steps. It is only 2 floors of the building.
The rooms were good for the price. Neighborhood is great, lots of Nepalese food close by. Secure. Google maps doesn't give good instructions. It is literally at Indente Metro exit. Easy to get to airport from using Metro

Czech RepublicOld equipment, but the bed was comfortable. No hot water available but the owner did let me a kettle when O asked for it.
The rooms are very ordinary and quite old but from second day I felt like a princess here. The owner was always happy to help when I needed something. I loved the view from this place. Everything is super clean. The windows are old so you can hear literarly everything from the street, but earplugs helped and the view is worth it. Location is great, near to the city centre, I always walked.

United KingdomAs previous reviewers have noted, it's on a busy road, but, if you bring earplugs (which is always a good idea when you're going to a hotel for the first time!) you'll sleep just fine.
The hotel was very much as advertised and previously reviewed. It is very clean, simple, central, and easy to find. The staff were very helpful, especially with my early morning taxi needs. The bed was comfortable and the room was a reasonable size for one person.
