Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainThe interior is a bit dated. My room was tiny but functional, and the shower tiny. But everything was clean and the bed was comfortable.
In the middle of town. If it is just a place to sleep for a couple of days while spending the day outside in the wonderful city.. brilliant place .. value for money.

Room was much cleaner than expected with a double and single bed. Facilities were extremely lacking but the staff member on call had been extremely helpful and accomodating. Was great value for money, would recommend for people just wanting to spend a night but not to expect anything.

United KingdomSmall details like footprints on the headboard just above the pillows, tv remote looked quite dirty as it hasn't been wiped, all the hand sanitizer dispensers were empty (on all floors). Small things but it makes a big difference. The price is very reasonalble though and location is excellent. I could stay again, specially ifnthe cleaners make a little more effort

IrelandThe rooms are rather small and have thin walls. I was in town during carnival and the persons next door came back home around 3 am. I could listen to their conversations as if they were in my room.
The Hotel is very central and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I only stayed one night.

North MacedoniaThe room was too narrow, i kept on hitting my head. You leave your key everytime you leave the establishment and establishment is locked at night. We had to call the residence for someone to unlock the front door.
Location was perfect, right in the center. The room was small, but expected for the money. It was relatively clean, except the window.

United KingdomNoisy - from the streets and from other rooms ( we could hear conversations ) . The room wasn’t very clean or had a lot of dust . There was a tissue under my bed . The water in the shower took ages to warm up . Every time I went out I had to hand in the keys which was a first for me as I had been to similar type of accommodations .
Location . View of the city and the river from my room . Close to restaurants , shops , 2 mins walking distance from Coimbra train station and local attractions .

ColombiaThe Residencial Internacional is located in an old building with a reasonable work of renovation, with emphasis on the guest rooms more than the common areas and a fair price for the location (just across the street from the train station and a 15-30 minutes uphill walk to the University of Coimbra, with several excellent restaurants on the way). Parking is available a short walk away. This hotel works fine for travellers which intend to be on the move and need a base to sleep. The rooms we got were on the (very) small side but scrupulously clean, include AC units, comfy beds, usable WiFi, a small desk and daily housekeeping. Some rough edges on the renovation work are evident on the bathrooms, like water damage on a few walls, creaky floors and sliding doors that don't like to stay closed. Our party used three rooms and we noted that not all rooms are equally spacious. 107 is really tiny, like take-turns-to-go-around-the-bed tiny. 106 and 206 are simply better rooms. However I think this is a good value for people that are willing to stay a few nights in a quaint, old-style, no frills, no elevator place.

United KingdomThere is no lift, so lugging a heavy bag up 2 flights of stairs was a drag. If you did want to stay in for bit, the TV was too far up the wall to make it viable. The shower cubicle was a tad too small for a 6ft lad, so I had to open the door for more room to lather up.
Perfect river-front location for exploring Coimbra. Inexpensive, no-frills, great value for money. Clean, great for short stays. Lovely old building with very high ceilings. The best thing was that I could open the windows to the cool river breeze (notwithstanding the traffic noise) at night - bliss.
