Nice snack bar with great views. We arrive by bike and they were able to store our bikes safely in a locked room. The staff were very helpful.

The swimming pool was a bit too hot and there were too many kids in the pool. We were unlucky as the weather was extremely hot while we were there 44C one afternoon so if we come again we will go in May rather than June.

Its position above the river and wonderful views. The staff were all very kind and helpful.

If you are going to stay at a hotel in Mertola, this is the place to stay. Very nice room, and a good price with a nice view of the river and the castle. Short walk up the hill to the castle or down to the river. The 10 Euro breakfast buffet is definitely worth it. Staff were really nice and very helpful when it came to answering questions. The bar on the patio was an excellent place to unwind with a great view of the river and the castle.

No lift. Very steep stairs. I had hotel envy of is sister hotel “hotel museum” looked a little more modern.

Great location with pool and bar overlooking the river. Room was spacious and bathroom was very large. Breakfast was very good and staff were friendly.

Great place. The only thing for a motorcyclist was the parking, but bikes were fine outside on the road.

Not so great when you have to move the bed to plug in the night lamp. Breakfast area was at times somewhat chaotic and the coffee machine was not responding well to button pushes so basically one staff member had to attend it all the time

Great view of the river - plenty of space

The hotel is located right on the river as the name might suggest and we got the sense that it is probably ideal for families in the summer time. There is a pool, outdoor cafe and pop-up food truck. We climbed some stairs to get to the old town and the castle but then realized later on that the easiest route was walking up the road. There’s a cozy lounge on the first floor of the building where we met with our friends in the evening. The rooms were clean but one of us at least found the bed uncomfortable. Mattress springs too close to the surface? And a slightly moldy shower curtain in the otherwise clean bathroom.

No coffee /tea facilities in the room . You could get coffee from the restaurant, but for a cost. We would probably have upgraded to the sister hotel, which was next door if we had the option.

The bed was uncomfortable and the sound insulation was poor.

The location, the views, the availability of parking, the breakfast and the bar snacks were all excellent. the room was a good size and the shower was very good.

Facilities have not been fixed over the last 2 years. The shower still leaks. Wifi not great. Some of the staff not very friendly, see you and still do not help you, seem to not be interested in helping you out.

Noisy air conditioning, which when reached temperature went cold. No duvet on the bed, cold over night in January. In morning lots of condensation on the window with a pool of water. This was a disabled room and therefore could have caused someone to slip.

Location. We were upgraded to a river view with a terrace. Bedrooms and bathroom had been renovated since our last stay, which made it better value for money. Card entry good.

The room itself was quiet, but we could hear people walking/talking in the corridor quite loudly. Other than that everything was very good.

The hotel is very well located, close to both the river and the old town. The room was small but charming, clean, comfortable and well equipped (including air con / heating). Free parking, helpful staff.
