The only reason that I don't give 5 stars is because the air conditioning in the room looked small capacity due to not enough air to cool the room. It was hot at nights. :(

Location, location. It's located just a few steps of the main attractions, wineries, restaurants, stores. Active live night and tourist area. Very secure area. It has a small kitchen. with all the necessary. Loved it.

There is some variance in rooms and note there are two different buildings - one new, one older. We were in the older building in two different rooms, one was excellent and the other was just good but not excellent.

I liked the location, the host, the room, the price, it felt like home, it is just few minutes from the Douro promenade. In order to arrive to the metro, need to climb some stairs to the top of the hill (10 minutes walking), we almost did not use the Metro, just walked anywhere, including to Porto center which is just across the bridge.

The Wi-Fi is unreliable — not suitable for remote work with Laptop. Cleaning could be more thorough. The shower was leaking, which made the bathroom a bit messy.

Excellent location, perfect for the São João festival and for visiting Porto. Modern studio, well-furnished and smartly organized in terms of space. Very helpful staff and quick, smooth check-in process.

Comfortable small apartment, very close Douro river and to many cellars, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, souvenir stores. Short walking to Cais da Ribeira through Luis I bridge. Ana was very nice and communicative.

The shower stall is very tiny. Tall people need to take care not to bang their head against the shelf.

Owner's wife runs the reception desk and is fluent in at least three languages. She is very friendly, warm, and helpful. The room itself is quite large, air conditioning was wonderful and very efficient. The location is just a few blocks from the riverside, and yet it is on a very quiet street. The room had no view to speak of, but was so comfortable and affordable--how could we complain? Unfortunately the paid breakfast was not available when we were there, the kitchen was not in order. Instead we had bagged breakfast left at our door in the morning which was just OK. There is a terrace with a small pool that affords a lovely evening view. The kitchen is very cleverly designed/hidden behind some doors that look like a closet. I would stay here again without question! Great value overall.

It was a 10 minute walk to the other side of the river where most of the tourist attractions are located then some uphill.

Large room/apartment and very modern decor. Quiet. Small kitchen if needed. Two minute walk to the river. Small rooftop area for great views and a small pool.

The check-in was a little awkward because I arrived during the lunch break, however I managed to get a hold of them and get an access code to get in and stow bags.

The room was spacious, well appointed, and well located for the price. Would definitely stay again visiting that part of Gaia. Great place to stay if you are looking to tour and taste port houses.
