Such a great service! Everybody is so nice! We had perfect dinner for two times. Wonderful view. I definitely recommend this place.

This is an exceptional old family house, the welcome and care throughout our stay was simply superb We enjoyed the lovely organic produce from the garden that were prepared with love by Fernando and partnered with superb wine from the property We felt throughly at home The views over the Douro Valley are simply stunning All four dogs, Rinaldo, Chico, Nina and Vaca are super friendly. Bigger and older Chico is so kind and gentle.

Highlight of the stay was Fernanda, the hostess who cooked us beautiful meals each evening and gave us lots of interesting information about the food. The grounds are gorgeous with stunning views. We loved morning tennis games and chilling by the pool. The Quinta is secluded so we had a car to get round but there is also a taxi service in the area and a train station a 10 min drive away.

The place is much more incredible than the photos. If you liked the photos, you will be amased about the real quality. The house is perfect with perfect kitchen/ livingroom. The rooms are big and very very confortable with full bathrooms. The "pequeno-almoço" served every morning with fruits, fresh bread coffee etc is great. The Quinta is full of vineyards and so beautiful. There is also a playing space with basketball net, bicycles, table-tennis, rackets to tennis practice and others. Also there is a very nice pool area with a view in the middle of the garden, a huge lawn area and a sand court to play football of even kids digs and castle construct. The Quinta is specialiized on the green-wines which I bought but still didnt tasted. All crew is very gentile and friendly. We were very very happy with our stay.

Traditional but comfortable

Second time here, the place is absolutely amazing. Huge property surrounded by vineyards, beautiful old main house full of history (there’s even a chapel inside), plus three separate villas. We stayed in the main building and were lucky to be the only people there on a rainy Monday and Tuesday in October. It felt like visiting family in the countryside. There is a garden and all the fruit and vegetables come from there, everything we ate (and we ate a lot) was amazingly fresh and tasty. Fernanda, the hostess/chef/housekeeper is such a lovely warm and genuine person, she’s definitely what sets this place apart from other similar places. Make sure to book a dinner there! We are already planning our next visit.

Absolutely nothing to dislike

The scenery and views were phenomenal. This is a very peaceful place. The dogs are great. We loved Ronaldo! The casita de piscina was quaint and comfortable. The dinner brought to the house was absolutely delicious and cooked with love. But, the very best part of our stay was meeting Fernanda who just loves people and is so warm and welcoming. She is a wonderful person and makes the experience staying here over the top!

Fernanda and family were amazing, what a service and what a great breakfast and dinner that they served us! The Quinta is also very well maintained with a great swimming pool, great gardens and vines!

We stayed in the 3 bedroom house in the vineyards which was beautifully done out and very light and modern, different to rest of accommodation on estate which was more rustic but also looked lovely. Each bedroom has a huge en-suite bathroom (2 bedrooms are on a lower floor) and there is a big lounge/kitchen area with views over vineyards, it far exceeded our expectations. Wi-Fi worked ok too. We cooked for ourselves and there was a good supermarket within about 15 mins drive. As other reviews have said Fernanda was very hospitable and provided us with dinner at short notice when we arrived late. We had fresh bread delivered every morning with fruit, yoghurts etc for .breakfast. The pool area is gorgeous, as are the views and the whole atmosphere is very peaceful and relaxing. Would love to go back

Everything was great

My husband and I had such a great time at Quinta de Guimaraes. It was at the end of a long trip so it was very nice to have a place to just relax for a few days. The facilities are great - we stayed in the main house and the room was spacious, there's a nice pool and plenty of grounds to walk through. Our host, Fernanda, was absolutely amazing. She greeted us as we arrived and made sure we got settled and was very accommodating throughout our stay. And her cooking is amazing. We ate all our meals here and would not have done it any other way. A very nice stay in the Douro Valley.

This was our second trip to our favourite place in the Douro Valley. We simply love the estate and the kindness of Fernanda - this time we picked raspberries with her and her family. Cherries were also in season so we got to enjoy them fresh from the trees. It was warm enough to swim and lounge around by the pool and we came prepared with tennis rackets and balls to make use of the tennis court. We stayed in the vineyard house both times and enjoyed warm nights out on the porch overlooking the vineyard and valley. We love it there so much it’s hard to leave even for day trips along the Douro River. It’s just somewhere you want to stay. We’ll no doubt be back.

Everything was absolutely wonderful - the rooms were very nice, cosy and clean, friendly dogs around the property were gr8 fun for our kids.. But the best part was Fernanda's cooking. You should definitely order dinner there. It is fresh, healthy and delicious! I almost cancelled our stay due to bad weather. But I am very glad I did not 😃. Breakfast perfect as well. The best stay in Portugal. Recommend to everyone, will return for sure some day.

Fernanda was the on property host. She and her sisters Rosa and Lucia were fabulous. Fernanda went out of her way to make our stay the very best.

Everything about this place is charming. Our cottage was cosy and warm, with a fireplace. It had ample space, and the lovely grounds of the vineyard and farm were beautiful to walk around. But the best part of all was Fernanda, who brought us a delicious and hearty lunch and dinner each day, and who is some kind of angel of a human being! Thanks Fernanda!

We had a fantastic time. The property is lovely, a beautiful location in the valley with stunning views. The best part about our stay was Fernanda. She is a very friendly and fantastic cook, we had breakfast, lunch and dinner at the property each day. For dinner, we enjoyed the roast beef, roast lamb and cod for each day with fresh vegetables and fruits from the garden. All cooked to perfection and massive portions. There is an honesty bar at the pool and we enjoyed lovely wine made by the vineyard. You can get a taxi from Ermida train station so very easy to get to the property.

We had a fantastic 2 days! We stayed in the swimmingpool house: 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, kitchen/dining/livingroom. It was a clean and spacious apartment. Breakfast and dinner was served in the apartment which was great with our 2 small kids. Fernanda is such a lovely, warm hearted woman and she made us feel right at home. Her cooking is also superb. The grounds are spacious and there is a lot of entertainment possible for kids: pool, tennis, volleyball, basketball, pingpong. And the views are beautiful as well. It is a quiet area so you can really relax. Our kids (3yo and 1yo) felt very welcome and we had everything we needed for them as well. Best place we have stayed at in a long time and we wished we could have stayed longer.
