How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The number of Dorm room looked limited in the summer season. So, I stayed in the twin room.
Staff were very helpful and alway welcomed us. Public space for hanging landry clothes is good after beach trip.

The shower curtain stank!! It was that awful sour, damp smell . Needs replacing or washing and drying properly. The smell spread to the room. Got woken up quite early when the bakers got busy, but that was ok.
Friendly, welcoming staff on arrival and throughout. Decent breakfast. Good, central location.

the bunk beds are a little creaky, the spacious wardrobe is not lockable.
Amazing location, very spacious house, lovely staff and a very clean bathroom. A/C in the room, 24h reception, exceptional selection for breakfast, key cards for every room

I loved this hostel , best in the Algarve as far as I am concerned . The breakfast was also a bonus which doesn’t happen at other hostels. Also close to all amenities

The showers were not always hot and you have to keep pressing a button every few seconds to keep the water flowing
Good cold breakfast and location in town. Nice staff, everywhere clean and tidy. Comfy bunks

Kitchen lacked a kettle and some basic items. Showers were not at all hot but are probably better in warmer months. Breakfast choice is also fairly limited but there is plenty of what there is.
Reception ladies were friendly and helpful. Relaxed atmosphere. Secure parking for bicycles. The daily maid service was unexpected but a nice touch.

The beds are not very comfortable. In shared rooms, the bunk beds are extremely shaky, hard to turn around without shaking the whole bed and disturbing the other person.
Staff was super nice and helpful. The location is great, a few minutes on foot from the centre of Tavira. The hostel is in an old house, it's a beautiful space. Breakfast has quite a few options, it's very nice. And there's a fully functional kitchen if you'd like to cook.

I would strongly recommend and suggest some curtains to be placed on the beds for us, guests to have more privacy. This would be highly welcome and a big plus to the hostel. Having the bed's curtain will make our stay more enjoyable also.
The hostel is well located, near everything: The old town, bars, restaurants, supermarkets Pingo Doce, Lidl, etc It's very impressive, beautiful architecture and you almost feel as being in a five star hotel, to be honest! It's nice and quiet, close to all the main tourist Tavira attractions. I slept like a baby, due to the absolute silence. I was impressed in a very good way. I would stay there again! I would recommend to friends and family!! The staff was very polite, extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast was abundant and delicious: fruits, yoghurt, all kind of coffee and tea, etc You will be amazed.

The bathroom could use a redesign to be more user friendly.
The staff is wonderful, the breakfast is really good, and overall, the facilities were very clean and comfortable. The location is great, close to the river, and in the old town.

The lights in the showers that repeatedly cut out and leave you struggling in total darkness in a slippy wet room.
