Not much heating in the breakfast area.

Warm welcome and friendly staff. Free street parking outside the door if you are lucky, otherwise 100-200 meters away. Simple but adequate breakfast.

A bit difficult to find - not the hotel's fault - Maura is a bit of a topographical maze! Also the breakfast wasn't as good as I thought it might be - you can't expect gourmet food for a cheap price - but a bit of fresh fruit and some decent rolls would be nice. Still, the urn coffe wasn't too bad and there was lots of milk....

A nice hotel. My room was above a courtyard with lots of pot plants and palms. It was clean, large enough and the bed was good with nice bedding. I had a good night's rest. The receptionist/cleaner/general factotum was great - he couldn't have been more friendly and helpful.

I only stayed there for a week and was always in working mode, I don't have anything to declare that i didn't like.

Well, the location of the hotel is in a very good place. The breakfast starts at 07 am which was also good regarding our world travel. At night we were in almost everything needed

it was fine and there are limited options in Maura. we had recently stayed in larger towns and amazing hotels so it was a change for us.

it is a nice basic hotel w decent breakfast, clean rooms, walkable to restaurants.

I didn't particularly like the plastic bed covering under the bed sheet

The Hotel was good, very clean. Bedroom and bedroom were a good size. Bed was comfortable and breakfast was ok. The hotel team were also very friendly. I can’t speak a word of Portuguese but the staff could not do enough to help out.

    Nothing really.

Good location for walking around the town. Because the town goes back to the 13th century, Many of the streets are very narrow and one way system now. More like walkways. A couple of kilometres walking takes you everywhere. There's also an old Castle and a Museum. The Alquelva Dam is close by and should not be missed with fabulous scenery all around. It's 5 kilometres away.

We asked for the room to be tidied up after the first night. We did not question the cleanliness. In that respect, it was acceptable. However, the bathroom amenities consisted of two small bars of soap and two small packets of shower gel, which would be sufficient for a 10-year-old child. Furthermore, they were not replenished. Only one of the soap bars and the two shower gels that we hadn't used were left. Overnight, the towels were reduced to one face towel and one bath towel for the two of us!!! I don't think it's worth commenting on!!!

The breakfast was one of the worst we have ever had. On the first day (yes, because we ended up having to stay an extra day, but booked directly with the hotel), as we arrived 20 minutes before closing time, we had no more than half a dozen slices of bread to toast and a few pieces of pastry cake rolled up with a filling I don't recognise. The coffee was instant coffee and there was only semi-skimmed milk. The most incredible thing is that to drink an espresso or hot chocolate, we had to use a machine, but we had to pay for it. I have never been to a hotel where the options were coffee with milk or coffee with milk. Horrible. The second breakfast consisted of a few croissants and slices of cheese and ham. We do not recommend it and will definitely not be returning.
