Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

This hotel has a lot of character, high beautiful ceilings, an amazing breakfast room, big wooden doors, and a romantic garden. It is located within the walking distance of the centre of Lisbon, such as cathedral and castle, and Tram 28 line is running past the hotel. As we were leaving early in the morning instead of breakfast, we were given pack ups, which included freshly made chocolate cake.

LatviaWe stayed in July when the temperature was above 28°C, and unfortunately, there was no air conditioning. It was very uncomfortable to stay overnight or spend time in the room during the day. The only option was to open the windows, but since they faced a main street, the noise was extremely loud and made it difficult to sleep.
I liked the clean and fresh premises. The bathroom was very well maintained.

United KingdomVery noisy if you have a room facing the street. Found it difficult to sleep. Biggest problem however was check-in. The front door of the hotel is locked so the only way to access is by ringing the doorbell. Unfortunately that wasn’t working so we phoned the number found on Booking.com. No one answered the phone and we ended up having to persuade the hotel opposite to look after our bags until we could check in. Numerous phone calls and messages left finally resulted in us being able to check in but not a great start to our stay!
Great location, 2 minute walk from green line on the metro. Easy to get to the airport. Very clean room with big comfortable bed. Good breakfast.

United KingdomA little bit noisy as right on main road into city. Slightly away from city centre and tourist attractions but walkable to those - just a different 'flavour' to the streets.
Comfortable beds, large bathroom, unusual decor, garden space and very near metro station and small shop for essentials.

FranceWe stayed 3 nights and what a gem of a hotel. You wouldn't think so from outside, as it is not free access to the public, (which also means it is secure). The rooms are really lovely and spacious, the bedding is comfortable and it is great to have a kettle to make tea and coffee. The breakfast buffet was small but definitely sufficient, we didn't need anything else. The metro was not far, nor was the bus or tram. The only negative was the sound of the metro and the walls were thin. But we would stay here again without hesitation :)

IndiaNo Elevator else the property.
The place was centrally located but did not have an elevator to go up, which was difficult for carrying our bags etc. But the staff especially Arthuro was very helpful and made things easy for us. The other lady at the reception was akso good and did her bit. Overall the location was very convenient with bus, Metro, Restaurants and Markets all at walking distance.

LatviaThis is not about the hotel, but more about the area, we saw some shady people around with odd behaviour on same street, just be cautious.
Clean, nice hotel with a garden. Location is quite good in terms that you have metro stations nearby and it is walkable distance to main street and squares.

RomaniaThe shower wasn’t properly hydro isolated, and all the water was leaking on the floor and created a mess…
The location of the property was great, easy access from/to subway. A walking(~30’) distance to St. George Castle and Alfama district. The staff was nice, they helped us with some breakfast to go, since we had an excursion that started early in the morning.

South AfricaOne drawback is that the metro train seems to run under the hotel. This causes noise until the metro stops late at night. The super nice price made up for this and we had a pleasant stay
The 2 ladies at reception and breakfast was exceptional. Jessica and Dianna went out of their way to make our stay fantastic. Best coffee in a month in Portugal was made bt Dianna. Rooms were clean and comfortable with nice showers.Breakfast was great.
