The villa was lovely. The facilities for the wedding were great. The shuttle buses whenever required were great!! The food was all really great.

Fantastic villa with 2 bedrooms and a full kitchen. It was very expensive and a fairly long drive to anything, but it was very nice. The golf course was excellent - very hilly and tricky and fairly long. There was a very good break in the golf price by staying at Monte Rei.

AngolaThe house need serious maintenance. A lot of ants everywhere in the house. The spa does not really work, having to hire people from outside to do a massage. No choice to do a couples massage either. Poor choices of food for lunch or dinner, should have a proper restaurant with a bigger menu.

Ireland1. Our second floor apartment had a major issue with ants. Every room on our apartment (both bedrooms, both bathrooms and kitchen/sitting room as well as balcony) was full of ants. We tackled it ourselves as we didn’t want the apartment fumigated while we stayed there but it was horrendous. Cleaners didn’t seem to notice. We are spotless and kept no food/crumbs around but even when we killed them, they returned after an hour . Raid didn’t work. They seamed to come up from the gutters/vents on the balcony and in through doors of the second floor. 2. The first day we arrived we went to the restaurant Veranda and had a very bad experience with ants. While we were eating, ants swarmed the table and our daughters chair was covered in ants, climbing her legs. The waitress made no apology and said there is nothing you can do. We moved seats ourselves without any real assistance and paid full price and left. 3. The bed was extremely soft. I have a bad back and have had a number of operations. My partner also found the mattress very soft and experienced back pain. One female receptionist who checked us in was extremely unhelpful and told me there was nothing they could do. I had suggested swopping mattresses with the second bedroom and she said the manager refused. I asked to speak to the manager who I was told was Tiago. He was too busy to speak to me. I explained that I could talk to him later and he never called back. I eventually spoke to another receptionist who was helpful and he came over with his team. They turned the mattress and that helped a bit but it was still soft so do not recommend for anyone with back issues. 4. When we arrived we asked for ordinary pillows, not fabric covered unwashed design pillows that were in the room. The same female receptionist who dealt with the mattress never bothered getting back to us but thankfully I found some in the press and bought one in a shopping centre in Tavira. 5.
Beautiful views from the apartments of the pool and the lake. Breakfast was great - lots of options and the staff at the inclusive breakfast area couldn’t be more helpful. They provided without doubt the best service at Monte Rei. The landscape was very picturesque. The apartments were spacious and had very nice design.

Australiafor a 5 star resort the facilities were not clean and completely un inhabitable with cockroaches inside the houses, poor cleaning of the bedrooms and bathrooms and a spa with dirt and bugs in it that looked like it had not been maintained for over a year. This was horrible value for money and I would not stay here again. it felt outdated and under maintained.
