A lot of taxi drivers won’t enter ‘the park’ as you need to pay a fee at the gate (this is refunded by the hotel) not a fault with the hotel. But but something to be aware of

It’s an older property- and my dislikes relate to the age- nothing really they can do to fix it- it’s really about the location!

The views- simply the best! On the night we stayed- 2 large tour groups were also there- it made the breakfast area a little over taxed. However- the staff warned us with notifications posted in the elevator.

The location of this hotel and surroundings are exceptional. It stands next to the amazing Bom Jesus Basilica. The stairs leading to this Basilica are a great example of the Portugal art and architecture. Climbing these stairs from the bottom to the Cathedral could be challenging, but it worth it. The whole complex of buildings and multiple chapels create an exceptionally spiritual environment. The large park on the mountain offers excellent opportunity for simply walking and for meditations The Hotel do Parque staff was exceptionally friendly. We had a gorgeous dinner in the restaurant with the amazing view of Braga and its shining lights. We also took a ride on the unique funicular driven by the force of water..Our room was small but quite sufficient for a short stay. The whole atmosphere of this hotel makes it home away from home. We had breakfast included in the price and it as very good in all aspects: the spacious room, good service, plenty of tasty food and beverages.

Unable to go to restaurant, it was fully reserved and there was no mention of having to do a reservation in advance. Also, we were in room 118. A coat of paint and a deep clean of carpet are needed.

The terrace outside was very public, not so private for such a hotel. The bar service limited in terms of small snacks or petiscos. They could make it more appealing and comfy at the bar/terrace. A pity because the rest was perfect

The bathroom configuration is not very private. They could stand to update some of the decor (like lose the fake flowers!). Breakfast was adequate, but quite average. Eggs were cold and the mushrooms were not fresh but were from a jar. The breakfast room was creepily quiet. They should look into playing some background music for better ambience.

The location is excellent. Right by the church and great views of the park area. The staff, especially Carolina, were so friendly and helpful. She gave us recommendations for the area that were really appreciated. It was a convenient walk to the park areas. The bed was pretty comfortable, too. The bar was lovely and we played pool (badly!) in the game room. The art in the bar is so unique, too.

We loved everything !

The location is fabulous....at the top.of Bom Jesus stairway, and near to the funicular. There is a bus stop at the bottom of Bom Jesus, and from there you can either walk up the stairway, or take the funicular to the top (2eu one way per person). Alternatively take a Bolt ride from the city of Braga (cheap). We had a rental car, and there was free parking at the hotel. The room was big and clean. The bed and pillows were comfy, the breakfast was excellent, and the staff were all friendly and professional. The view from our room was brilliant, overlooking the courtyard at the top of Bom Jesus. I cannot fault the venue, and would definitely recommend it.

There’s not much to do in the evening, the hotel, surrounding areas and hallways are very dark. Basically no services, some obvious deterioration of the building, hotel next door did have a restaurant and bar open

Bathrooms had a smell of sewage and could see a couple of centipedes around the shower drain.

It's just up from the train station, on a lively pedestrian street. The gentleman at reception was very helpful with a map to show us what not to miss.There were several rooms for patrons to rest and take in the elegant decor. Breakfast was lovely and the bar cozy.

Bathrooms could have a door and breakfast could do with some improvements: better coffee and more options of food. Room lights are a bit hard to tune before sleep.

This is a picturesque one of a kind hotel. The view is incredible. The room is big. The park and surroundings are magnificent. Staying here is clearly much better than staying in the city center.
