As a tall person the bed was just too short for me but it was not a big problem.

Great location right across from the Fado Museum. Amazingly soundproof considering how much activity in the area. Staff were very friendly and the decor was fun. Excellent breakfast included.

The hot water wasn’t hot enough but maybe I didn’t give it enough time to warm up.

The location was perfect for getting the best of Lisbon during a day layover. From the outside, the Hostel looks unassuming however, when you step in, there’s a sense of care and creativity that greets you when you open the door. My room (201) was on the second floor, and it was the most adorable space (with private bathroom) for a solo traveler or a couple. Windows open onto the courtyard/public Square. There wasn’t a lot of noise to be heard from the second floor. The windows were all brand new and probably soundproof too. The room was covered a little cold when I walked in so I turned on the heat and it immediately warmed up the space. The hosts are very informative and kind and will do anything to help make your experience in their hostel a fun and memorable one. It’s pretty easy to get to the Hostel by Metro if you’re coming from the airport. I purchased a day pass for €10 which can be used for 24 hours starting when you use it. The pass included entry on the metro/bus/train. You can take the red line to Saint Sebastiano then to the blue line to Saint Apolonia and walk five minutes west to the Hostel. As a slight sidenote, there’s a souvenir shop, not too far from the Hostel that had a large selection of do dad’s and knickknacks for any traveler. I don’t have the name of it, but I know that it’s right across the path from Tasca do Jaime, a very popular restaurant in the area although I did not eat there because they do not take cards or Apple Pay. Cash only. Instead, I went to a lovely restaurant about 1 min away from the Hostel called O Beco. Reservations only but they do take contactless payment. My waiter, Abdullah was very sweet and attentive. Try the condensed milk moose. It’s delicious!

Great location in Alfama, easy to walk the neighborhood, Uber and taxi access was awesome, also walkable to the Train station if you are traveling light. More of a bed and breakfast than hostel. Guests were quiet when we were their. Our private room was more spacious than I expected.

Some light sleeping guests might not like late night noise/voices from tourists and locals in the adjacent public square who are frequently out there enjoying the night air until midnight.... but it is easily diminished by keeping windows closed. We liked the feeling of being part of this charming neighborhood.
