Unfortunately, the air conditioning is a bit loud even at night (from the bathroom in the next room).

It’s a great place in nature to stay and relax. The rooms are very cosy and with a nice design. Staff is super friendly. The included SPA circuit is very nice, the outdoor pool is cosy, in a nice environment. Excellent breakfast.

The food options were very limited. Being remotely located there were no other places to eat. The bar and restaurant were only open for about 2 hours at lunch and dinner time.

Very quiet and peaceful location. Staff was very friendly. Room was clean. Several actives you can do around the property.

The only slight annoyance was that the music in the bar area was sometimes too noisy and unsuitable.

Beautiful hotel, very comfortable room & bed, nice roomy bathroom. Good spa facilities. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. Easy onsite parking. Great location for touring by motorbike.

Shower in the room was a bit strange, it was hard to understand how it should work (too smart for me), simple oldschool shower would be much more better).

Comfortable hotel with exceptionally well maintained grounds. Clean, spacious rooms and extremely attentive staff. Surprisingly the hotel restaurant and bar are the best value for money ever. I highly recommend meals at this hotel. Indoor swimming pool is rather modest and if you're looking for a place to relax, the pool will probably not be the best place for this. Weekends are very popular with families and their children so expect the pool to be rather (too) noisy. Visited in March so cannot assess the likewise small outdoor pool. Nonetheless, the impeccable laws and stream that runs through the property give this design hotel a countryside atmosphere. Will definitely return.

The staff was wonderful! They went above and beyond to help me with a problem even though it was past midnight. The grounds and river are lovely.

Dinner service in the restaurant was initially slow and a little offhand before more staff arrived. Better attention should be paid to removing cobwebs in the room with high ceilings.

Warm welcome from reception. Very pretty location and great views from the room which had a skylight through which we could see swallows flying. Our room was nice, spacious, comfortable bed. Bathroom was spacious.

Possibly trying too hard to be “designer”. The gardens are abit “tired” and the decking is not good in laced. But I was there in Winter, so…

Location is amazing. Penela is lovely town and the hotel is in the countryside very close. Staff are great and attentive. Value for money.

The only thing I would have liked was a comfier bed and ideally a double bed and not too singles. I found the matteress really hard which i woke up to my back hurting.

The staff are exceptional. Very polite, friendly, and welcoming. They spoke really good english, and nothing was a bother. The breakfast was good, the scenery was beautiful, and the walks you find where amazing. I loved our stay.

We tried to book a massage for myself and my husband when I booked over 6 weeks previously but they were unable to get 2 masseuse available for a couples massage. We had asked for the invoice to be sent via email but this hasn’t arrived yet.

Maybe a little less jazz than was played constantly in the restaurant and bar areas - but just not our favourite genre of music, not a problem at all.

Everything was superb. The staff were great, very helpful & courteous, the breakfast was excellent, evening meals were lovely too. The spa area also was great, very relaxing massage by a lovely lady.

We would have liked tea making facilities in our room. The bar service can be a bit slow but no big problem,

Almost Everything. From the History of the building, the food, staff accommodation . Very comfortable bed. Beautiful linen. Staff remembered us from our visit a year earlier which was lovely. Good parking and location just off the A13.

Breakfast wasn’t bad but I missed the homemade bread. also when there’s a lot of people at the same time, the food should be replenished faster.

The breakfast room is too crowded, it’s advisable to have more staff (specially on holiday season) and to schedule slot times for guests, in order to avoid overcrowding
