Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomLovely stay in very good central location, with the added benefit of parking which was key to us staying there with our car (be mindful a very tight squeeze in the car park itself - you won’t have much luck getting a SUV in/out). Host was lovely, and available whenever we needed her. Slight issue when we arrived with keys and gaining entry at the correct time around cleaner, but all resolved quickly. The apartment is rather dated however, yet all was in very good working condition for the age - for example old kitchen and boiler etc. There was an annoying smell of stale smoke in the apartment when we first arrived, we couldn’t clear it for a while, or work out if it was the cleaner, previous occupants or coming from next door as there is a strict no smoking policy.

GreeceEverything was perfect. The only issue that came up was that since i wasn't familiar in the household use of gas, i was a bit afraid of using the kitchen to cook. However, Mrs Anne-Lise was always there to answer our questions & give us all the instructions needed and reassure that everything was safe and we had no reason to worry about.
The apartment's cosiness made us feel like home. It had all the necessary amenities and it was close to local markets, a mall and 3 minutes away from the metro station.

A sweet one bedroom apartment with a spacious marble bathroom, and a nice patio for your morning coffee. The location is great. Within walking distance of good places to eat, drink, and be merry . And directly across the street from the Calouste Gulbenkian museum; which is not to be missed if you're in Lisbon.

CanadaAirplane noise was disturbing, especially at night. Electrical outlet in bedroom was falling out of the wall and seemed unsafe. Owner could have been more responsive to our needs.
Location was convenient to the metro and about an hour’s walk to downtown. Grocery shopping was nearby, too.

BulgariaI missed only 2 extremely small things while staying in the apartment (but I am sure the host Anne-Lise will provide them after my comment): - hotel slippers - after 10 hours of being out all day long, in the evening you want to take off your walking shoes, also I needed them when going out of the bath tub or after a shower; - a mat in front of the bath tub (but I put a towel on the floor). You can hear airplanes monoeuvering to and from the airport but only during the day - they were not flying between 23 p.m. and 6 a.m. So when you are out all day long this is not a big issue.
Perfect location - 5 min walk from both metro lines - red and blue. Very clean and compact apartment, perfect for a couple. Extremely easy to get the keys. Very helpful and kind host (although we did not encounter any problem during our stay). Despite the little bit outdated furniture in the kitchen, it has a microwave, a big fridge, hot plates and and oven, a toaster, a coffee machine, hot water heater, a lot of cutlery, cups and glasses, a washing machine, no dishwasher. We stayed in October and we did not need neither heating nor cooling but there was a heating device in the bedroom. The terrace is very nice and good for smokers - with a small table and two chairs. Good ratio between quality and the price. A bakery and a grocery shop just across the street and a Liddle 5 min away, also many small local restaurants and bistros around. In general - I recommend strongly staying in the apartment!

RomaniaThere was a problem with a pipe in the bathroom which leaked and had to turn off the water. It was fixed the following day.
I really liked a lot of things: location, close to the metro station, a lot of bars and restaurants nearby, parks and museums also quite close. I also enjoyed the warm and sunny weather although it was windy especially in the morning and in the evening and it became chilly. The flat is nice and comfortable for 2 people.

United StatesFirst of all, the staff was exceptionally kind and hospitable, providing clear and comprehensive instructions for check-in and use of the apartment. It was perfect for families, with everything we needed readily available, and any request promptly fulfilled. The location felt safe and was conveniently close to numerous shops, restaurants, malls, banks, rental services, and anything else needed for daily life. I would gladly return with my family and recommend it to anyone who values a practical, comfortable stay. Many thanks to Anne for her wonderful assistance during our time in beautiful Lisbon, Portugal!

CroatiaThe sofa in the living room was really bad. Even with an extra mattress, it’s not suitable for sleeping. My shoulders hurt because of that sofa. My wife and daughter had a better experience, but that’s because their bed was fine. You must fix that sofa immediately or stop promoting it as an extra bed.

It was very cozy and it really made us feel like we’re at home. The apartment was very clean and tidy, spacious enough for me and my friends, just like in the pictures. We also liked that the apartment is not located in the strict center, because it gave us the opportunity to explore other parts of the city that we probably wouldn’t have if we were accommodated somewhere else, plus the center is close either way. You have a lot of things that you need for your stay in the apartment, it is very well equipped. I’d also like to add that the host is one of the best that we met so far, she’s so nice, friendly and helpful, gave us very detailed information about the location of the apartment and the process of check in that left no space for confusion. She also left us tons of material about Lisbon, where to go and what to visit on the table, which we found very considerate and we used a lot of those recommendations. All in all, we are very satisfied with our visit to Lisbon and with this property and the host, we’re definitely coming back again! :)

GermanyThe apartement is extremly noisy. You can hear the airplanes and the cars from the street. On top there was construction work. The windows are not isolated. I couldn't work nor sleep in the apartment. The only quite space was the bathroom. When I contacted the owner on this behalf she was more than unfriedly saying that the windows are well isolated which is simply not true. Also furniture is a little used and the aparment doesn't look like on the pictures.

Spain- It is noisy. Even with the windows closed and the blinds down completely, it is just beside a busy two lane street and it's loud. - The apartment feels like someone lives there and they just leave when someone is coming. - The sofa bed it’s really uncomfortable. - Please think of your worst parking experience ever and now multiply it by 1000. EXTREMELY narrow. I contacted the host several times asking for a picture or video (which she never sent) of the parking as she said the parking was narrow. I told her that my car was large (citroen Picasso) and that I was very worried. She told me it would be fine for parking at -2 as she parks her Mercedes E Station Wagon. The moment I just got the first ramp down, it was pure terror. I straight ahead contacted the host for help, as I was just in panic since suddenly the parking was at -4 and not anymore at -2. I asked her if I could just park it at -1, she said no. I asked if I could park it at -2 and she said no. She offered me to help me park it, and I said yes, but then she completely forgot she had told me so. In despair, even crying, I asked her for help as this was the most horrible parking situation I had ever encountered. She then said to not bother her as she was busy and if I wanted to cancel the reservation. Imagine that… just out of humanity, not helping someone in need (and in need because of your parking space). She then said that the parking was free. Sure, it’s free, but if you are travelling with a car is a MASSIVE selling point. Eventually I managed to take it to -4 reversing hand break on the narrow ramps corners. When I got down, I was shaking. I asked her if she could help me take it out as I was terrified. She said NO! That night I didn’t sleep at all thinking I had to take the car out. As I was leaving the apartment, she said I hadn't left the car park card. When I inquired about an official document for city tax, she found it offensive. I have proof of all. Worst host experience ever.
The marble work on the appartment, in the bathroom and in the kitchen, its original and beautiful. The rest feels a bit old, although functional.
