Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWe stayed on the ground floor room that looked out onto the main road. It can be noisy at nights as the windows are thin and can’t be updated due to the history of the house. The hotel provided earplugs so it wasn’t too much of an issue

This is an exceptional hotel. Room 5 felt luxurious with plenty of space. The room was spotlessly clean. Both the super kingsize and additional single bed were very comfortable. Large windows gave lots of light. The marble bathroom with brushed brass fittings added to the feeling of luxury. The balcony overlooking the pool was perfect for morning coffee and evening wine. The pool was great for a 20 minute dip and swim. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful with some excellent recommendations and discounts (aquarium). The breakfast was fresh and delicious. The breakfast staff were also very polite and service was efficient. Metro was a five minute walk and bus stop even closer so easy access to down town. Complimentary port on arrival and personal notes with little extras each day. This stay exceeded our expectations. Palatial indeed.

MaltaOur toilet had a funky smell probably coming from old pipes - so we had to put ventilation fan on as long as we can. There was no hand soap in the room so requested several times (to 2 different staff working during the different shift schedule) but we didn't get any until we checked out. It was only one night stay so we just used our face wash that we brought with us anyway.
Amazing staff, beautiful interior, convenient location. The price of this place compare to hotels in the old city is cheaper but the quality we got was so much better.

Czech RepublicEverything was of the highest standard, with just one small issue: during our early morning departure (around 5 a.m.), there was almost no water pressure in the shower, which made it quite difficult to freshen up before our journey. However, this was a minor inconvenience compared to the overall outstanding experience.
We stayed at Dear Lisbon - Valmor Palace for a special occasion, and everything exceeded our expectations. The staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and professional — they went above and beyond to help me organize a surprise for my wife's birthday, and it was carried out perfectly. We are sincerely grateful for that. The hotel itself is stunning, with elegant architecture and a refined interior that made our stay feel special from the moment we arrived. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, with a great variety and high-quality ingredients served in a lovely atmosphere.

United KingdomWe’d love to have had a small vanity mirror in the bedroom, as it had lovely natural light and the only two mirrors were fixed in the bathroom or wardrobe. Our balcony looked out onto some building works and that was fine, but a heads up would have been preferable. Because of the building works I’d suggest putting a better curtain in the shower room. Overall we had a wonderful stay. We’d highly recommend and would definitely book again.
The breakfast had a varied spread that changed slightly each day keeping it different. We had a lovely coffee, warm and cold food options. Cereals and toast were also on offer each day. The dinning room was a lovely setting. The pool outside was a lovely private area with comfortable loungers. The pool isn’t heated but that’s okay, we had a heat wave and it was lovely to cool off and just have the option to lay outside and relax. The staff were extremely friendly and made us feel very welcomed. The location was a 50 min walk to the ‘centre’ but we got Ubers and that wasn’t an issue. The city is quite spread out anyway so we didn’t mind it was a little out of town. The room was a lovely size, beautifully decorated and the shower / bathroom facilities were fantastic. The air-con worked well and we loved the personal touch of a hand written note at the end of the stay.

United KingdomNothing, everything was brilliant. When bokong I was a bit worried about the location of the hotel in relation to main sights. However, the hotel is right next to a bus stop and two metros, making travelling around easy.
This is one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in. What made it particularly special was the attentive team working there. We were well looked after and they made our stay memorable. The room was fantastic, spacious, comfortable and clean. The breakfast was also great. Simple and fresh but with a different variety each day. Overall we couldn't fault the hotel and it was a pleasure to come back after a day exploring. Thank you to the team who made my wife's birthday and our anniversary such a memorable holiday.

ItalyWithin a contemporary urban setting, an early 20th-century noble residence stands out architecturally from the surrounding buildings. This property is a true architectural gem, currently converted into an elegant boutique hotel. Upon our arrival, we were welcomed by the staff with a warm yet discreet professionalism that immediately made us feel at ease. When traveling, I seek accommodations that embody authentic style and exhibit meticulous attention to detail. Despite thorough research, I am often left disappointed by the lack of genuine character and the frequent oversight of those finer elements that contribute to making a place truly memorable. In this instance, however, I was enveloped in a delightful sense of comfort and care. Thanks to the dedication and attentiveness of the staff, this is undoubtedly a place to which we already wish to return.

United KingdomIt's hands down the best hotel in Europe that I've ever stayed at. The place was sparkling clean, with fantastic service and a 24-hour front desk. The rooms were spacious, well-equipped, and beautifully decorated. The bedding was incredibly comfy and the linen was top quality, while the toiletries provided were from the Ritual brand. They had everything you could possibly need, even a heated bathroom floor! Upon arrival, they offered a lovely welcome drink and snack. Breakfast was plentiful with both hot and continental options, definitely great value for money. The only downsides were the distance to main attractions, although transportation was convenient, and the lack of a lift due to the unique building. Staff are more than willing to assist with bags, but this could be an issue for less mobile guests. Also, there was a bit of noise from the street at night, which might be bothersome for light sleepers. All in all, worth every penny spent!

The breakfast was great, the staff were extra friendly and welcoming, the check-in was seamless - they brought my luggage up without me even lifting a finger + they organized an early check-in which was great.
