Friendly and helpful staff and excellent location and facilities

The fact that we couldn’t opt for a more basic dinner menu than the tasting menu priced at 110 euros per person, the car-parking arrangement and especially the difficulty we experienced in finding the specified location. The description referred to an orange cone, which was nowhere to be seen.

Nothing beats this hotel’s location, I mean it doesn’t get any more central than this. It’s located between the two main squares in the historic center, within walking distance to all the major attractions in Guimaraes. Just perfect! The property itself is very modern and the rooms are very comfortable. I was scared of potential street noise, given the proximity to dozens of restaurants and bars, but the insulation is fantastic and the rooms are very quiet. The staff was excellent!

It’s impossible to reach the hotel by car, and the reserved parking is some 200m (600ft) away, so be ready to roll your luggage down the uneven cobblestone streets. We knew this beforehand so it didn’t bother us so much. Other than that, we’ve been to Guimaraes several times and this was our favorite hotel. We will be coming back!

Gorgeous central boutique hotel. Old world charm with modern comfort. Fantastic staff, excellent breakfast, lovely welcome after a long drive. Lots of great advice. We really enjoyed our stay and will remember it for a long time.

Friendly, helpful staff and a fantastic location right on the central plaza, with convenient parking. We had a wonderful stay at the hotel.

Breakfast could be better organized — getting coffee required quite a walk from the outdoor seating area.

There was intense humidity in the bathroom, resulting in the wall swelling on one side and a musty smell.

The check-in was excellent and the reception people prepared coffee for us to compensate us for walking with baggage from the parking lot(due to the Feria Alfonsina you could not enter with the car in the city center). The room and bathroom were spacious. The hotel is in the center of Guimaraes. The quality of breakfast was very good.

Due to the fact that the hotel is in the center of the city it is quite dark inside. We did not have dinner in the restaurant as the prices are outrageous, we believe that the restaurant ia a Michelin star restaurant-

Lovely hotel in an awesome location in the old town.

Off-site parking instructions were unclear. GPS doesn't recognize the designated street. Air-conditioning in room did not work properly. Alerted front desk when night-time temperature reached 28C. AC cooled during day, but reached 27C on second night. Hence, the issue was either not addressed or resolved.

Lovely, good size rooms. Wonderful breakfast. Attentive staff. Perfect location. Honestly, a great find. Will stay again!

Location in the centre of Guimaraes was excellent. The annual medieval fair was on while we were there, as an added bonus.

In the centre of the old city - nothing can be more centre than that. Excellent accommodation. Good food.

You cannot stop for the luggage near the hotel. From the parking of the hotel you should go few hundreds of meters with the luggage which is not convenient

Lack of lighting in bedrooms and bathrooms. New staff made breakfast service at best patchy.

- best place to have breakfast in Guimarães - in the heart of town - extremely friendly personal - the city is the essence of Portugal in my eyes. If you miss it, you missed a very important part of the country - recommendation to stay over night, to see city late night and early morning :)

- breakfast buffet was very small (but might be dependant to few visitors in the hotel) - it is a long way to get the luggage to the hotel

Super location. Well appointed and comfortable room. The breakfast was great. The parking is quite close and easy to find.

The only small negative was the ligjting was a little low.
