Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicThe swimming pool had a wonderful view but at the cost of having to climb 67 steps to get to it. The access to the accommodation is not easy but the staff is helpful and happy to show the way.
Accommodation with a beautiful view in the upper part of the city. The accommodation also included a nice terrace with a view and a swimming pool. The apartment was very nicely and practically furnished. The breakfast they brought us from the Lapa hotel was rich and practically packed in a basket so that we could have it on the terrace.

PortugalThat was really good
It's a great place for a holiday. Its main value is the people who work there. It is a great place, nature, service - everything is at a high level.

United StatesThis was the nicest place we stayed in Portugal. The house is gorgeous, and every view from the windows felt like a fairy tale. The location is convenient for hiking, with trailheads that are walking distance from the house. The breakfast that is provided is huge, and the bread was fresh-baked. However, I would probably arrive with some groceries for snacks, because the nearest full grocery store is in Seia. I think the only dinner option in town is at the resort, which is excellent and well-priced. The chef came out and gave us her recipe for the rice cooked in orange, which we are looking forward to trying out. All of the staff we interacted with were lovely, and Nuno especially was so helpful. The drive to the house was a little tricky, and he led us there so that we could navigate the turns. He had excellent advice about hiking as well.

United KingdomNothing to report.
Great view, excellent breakfast. We had an enjoyable stay and loved going for a walk to the nearby river beach. The access is a bit tricky, but worth it for a true mountain experience.

United StatesA bread knife would appreciated,
Absolutely perfect quite mountain retreat with amazing breakfast, incredible views, awesome hiking trails, and very friendly staff. I could easily spend a month here in the summer time. The warm bread in the morning was fantastic. Sitting around the fireplace at night listening to Christmas music will be remembered

United KingdomJust be aware village is mountainside steep with corkscrew inclined turns . Read your maps first and use the cemetery and Nova road loop to negotiate access in and out .
Quiet, excellent facilities including access to a pool. Breakfast brought every morning complete with just baked bread.

IsraelThe kitchen is dark with no light, the steam collector didn't work so we had to open the front door and flies came in... other than that it's an amazing place.
The view from the house is insane...

PortugalIt wasn’t immediately clear that the apartments are part of a hotel, so we were a bit surprised when a cleaner came in daily to take out the trash while we were out. It would be helpful to inform guests about this service in advance. The apartment has a charming rustic design, but there are some safety concerns to consider — especially for families with small children. The staircase to the second floor is long and steep, with stone steps, so extra care is needed when going up and down. The flooring is also made of stone, and some thresholds are quite high. There are several sharp stone corners throughout the space, which could be a hazard for toddlers. Access to the pool requires climbing about 70 steep steps, which may be challenging for families with young children or anyone with mobility issues. The terraces offer stunning views, but they are not well-suited for toddlers, as they are quite open and elevated. We also noticed a persistent musty smell in the apartment, likely due to dampness or mold. Some ventilation or additional airing out between guests could help improve this. Overall, this place could be a lovely option for adults or families with older children who can safely navigate the stairs and stone features. A few small adjustments — like clearer communication, improved child safety, and better ventilation — could make the stay even more comfortable for a wider range of guests.
The apartment is very spacious, with a simple but pleasant interior. There are two large rooms, each with a big bed and a comfortable mattress. Each room has its own bathroom. The fridge and washing machine make the stay more convenient. The kitchenette is small and could use a bit of renovation, but it’s sufficient for a short stay. There’s also a coffee machine, which is a nice bonus in the mornings. Two sofas on the ground floor are great for spending time with friends, and there are plenty of chairs as well. A good choice for a stay with friends. Breakfast is very simple but tasty. Fresh, still-warm bread every morning creates a cozy atmosphere and puts you in a good mood for the day. There’s also an option to have dinner at the nearby restaurant — the price is €45 per person. The view from the terrace is beautiful, and the pool is great too. Just keep in mind that the outdoor space and pool are shared with guests from another apartment.

PortugalWhat we didn't like was the location was a 15-minute walking up a steep road after check-in at Casas da Lapa. Then the bathroom is upstairs (15 steps) with no railing to grab to. It's totally unsafe for us seniors. They should mention this to someone who is looking to book at Soito. Must say, though, the management remedied the situation by transferring us to their wonderful Casas da Lapa Hotel. A heart felt thank you to Nuno.
