How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Verified reviewWe loved our stay at Casas da Baixa. The location couldn’t be better—right in the heart of the city. The apartment was easy to access, with an elevator that made things much easier given our luggage and stroller. It was clean, bright, and in excellent condition, creating a very welcoming atmosphere. The host was also very responsive, which made our stay even more enjoyable.
A couple of things to note: the road in front of the building is narrow and busy, so stopping to unload luggage can be a challenge if you arrive by car, and parking is a bit further away. Also, while the included breakfast is very good, it’s a fixed menu served daily, which can feel repetitive on a longer stay or tricky if you have dietary restrictions. Overall, we truly enjoyed our time here and would happily recommend it.

Verified reviewThe apartment is very centrally located which is great. The place is a nice old apartment with high ceilings. The hosts were very nice and responsive.
The kitchen equipment is very basic for a family of four. Also, the master bedroom is dark, as the only window leads to an inner courtyard. Lastly, it would be helpful to inform guests that there is a luggage storage right next to the apartment building.

Verified reviewThe apartment is in a very central area but it was really calm inside. The bed in the sleeping room was very comfortable. All was very clean. Communication with Joanna and the team was very good. There are 2 small supermarkets maybe 4/5 min away (by feet). Highly recommend this apartment and would certainly go there back again for another time one day.

Verified reviewCentral location - could walk everywhere easily., Liked the nice blend of old and new in the appartment style. Lovely breakfast in the nearby cafe. Late checkin - you get a code for door. Quiet and dark for a good sleep.
Some renovation is much needed in the room we had, the floor was broken (the kids could get a splinter easily), mold in shower. You cant open the bedroom window as all the ACs are ventilating in the same small hot space. I found it overpriced - but chose it for the flair. Could have daily cleaning, fresh towels, free luggage storage and buffet breakfast in a hotel for the same money.

Verified reviewThe location was excellent, very central to the harbour, shops and sights. Plenty of restaurants nearby to choose from. The tramlines were going just a block from the apartment. We stayed in the 3rd floor apartment, which was clean and nice. The noice from the streets weren't bothering us, you could close the window shutters for the night. Air conditioning was a great thing to have!
The downstairs lobby looked and smelled horrible, so the first impression could have been better, not gonna lie.. 😄 Just ignore it, the apartments are way better!

We came with our son who is 28 and we expected a comfortable (double size) sofa bed for him. Instead he got a single narrow part of the sofa bed that some disappointed him.
