Wonderful surroundings, amazing gardens and whimsical vibes.

The flat was very heavy on MOULD, although clean and well maintained, could not get away from the intense smell of mould. Our stay was during rain season. ALL our clothes (In and out of luggage) were impregnated with awful and harmful stintche of MOULD.

Peaceful tranquil surroundings . Lovely gardens running to the river and watermill - always the sound of birdsong in the morning . Comfortable bed ,and the shower room was excellent . The pool area is great attached is a far eastern themed rest area ,and shower and toilet facilities . The cleaning and sheet and towel exchange was above and beyond what was expected . BBQ was available for use . Lots of private communal areas to use in the gardens . Recycling bins available on site . Kayak use on the river seemed to be free . Very rural , away from it all 'real Portugal ' Spain close by and Caminha is a lovely local town with lots going on , and some good eateries . There is a large supermarket at Villa Nova de Cerveira to fully stock up. The area is generally cheaper that Porto and Lisbon and cheap by UK standards . Petrol is cheaper then in the UK

Our house was overlooked on both sides and we were constantly subjected to secondary passive smoking from above . On the other side were people with a dog for about 4 days , the dog appeared distressed and constantly paced in an agitated state barking around the outside deck. Our living area was dark and really not usable as a living space . In the morning it was sometimes slightly damp in the house, making our clothes damp too. No facilities on site to get a beer and no local amenities within walking distance . Crying out for an honesty bar by the pool ?? Steep steps to some of the houses - not for those with mobility issues. Absolutely no English spoken at the property , no information pack in the house and nobody to ask. If visiting and English speaking , suggest a detailed trip is planned beforehand because you cant get information here due to the language barrier . A car is a must due to location , the more robust the better . Don't bring a decent car . Parking here is an art form and the roads are often cobblestones.
