Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsI have nothing bad to say about this place. Book it!!!! It's worth every penny and Tomar is a wonderful city to visit.
Luis (the owner) was a wonderful host, who was more than happy to regale us with the story of the building renovation which was of particular interest to us. The room we stayed has been wonderfully designed and renovated. Everything we needed was in the room. There was a wonderful stone terrace where we spent our mornings sipping coffee and relaxing in total peace and quiet, occasionally being joined by the cat who was wonderfully friendly. The pool is simply perfect with full outdoor toilet and shower facilities again immaculately restored. The location is so close to Tomar and yet you feel in total peace away from the city. I cannot say enough about how perfect this place is. We will 100% be back to stay with Luis again.

This place is an amazing gem. Beautifully restored and the owners thought of everything to make their guests comfortable. The swimming pool is beautiful, the courtyard, the fruit trees and plantings make for a an oasis. We didn’t want to leave. Their cat is very special!

PortugalThe shower drainage system could be improved upon, but other than that the shower was amazing.
Amazing two night stay at this wonderfully cozy accommodation, a short 8 minute drive away from Tomar. The host was super friendly and accommodating and gave us an extremely warm welcome and tips of what to do and find around the area. He explained that our room had been converted from what used to be a cow barn. The end result was a spacious neat and tidy, tastefully decorated rustic space with an earthy and romantic feel to it, not to be missed and far better than any cramped hotel room in the city center. If you are looking for an exceptionally tranquil countryside experience with all the comfort included like a great mattress, tea and coffee provided, even a taste of the finest olive oil, than look no further. You have found just the right place. The accommodation comes with a rustic garden terrace and a lovely, big swimming pool. A great place to unwind and escape city life. I highly recommend this place. Thank you to the host and his lovely restored and well maintained place and for making our stay a truly memorable one.

United StatesPerfect stay.
Absolutely stunning! If you are seeking a break from the rat race this villa is in a small village that speaks to the soul. Quite serene bliss among God's beautiful creation of hills and fruitfull lush grounds. It was a time of peace and relaxation. The village is just about 7 minutes from Tomar! Everything you would need can be found there. I loved my stay and feel blessed in my solo travel. In JMJ, Peace always, Victoria. P.S. the lovely cat was a bonus and miss him already!

United KingdomThe bathroom was part of the room and "screened off" by completely transparent glass. I visited with my son in the summer, which was ok, but I can't imagine how using the toilet would work for a romantic couple in the wintertime...😳
Immaculately restored stone house with apartments built into the rocks. No air con, but rooms cool even in July. Bed very comfortable and room spacious. Having a small kitchen and fridge built into the room was useful. The pool was absolutely glorious and we enjoyed the outdoor space with plenty of tables/chairs and sun loungers. Very peaceful location but handy for Tomar and lots of other great places to visit.

DenmarkLimited grocery and restaurant options nearby, but one can just drive to Tomar. No dishwasher, if one likes to use it.
The house interior and exterior design, the swimming pool and the quietness of nature. The owners were very nice. Tomar was only 10 minutes away by car.

United StatesWe enjoyed the pool area for swimming, but in the evening it was dark so not conducive for sitting around, which we would have liked to have done . There were plates and utensils for eating in the room, but no napkins.
This property was beautifully renovated and has a lot of charm. The landscaping is beautiful, and there are lots of outdoor areas for relaxing. The owner has thought of many details for the comfort of guests. There are also two resident cats who are very sweet.

Luis and Helene’s home was simply breathtaking. The stone work, design, and execution of this gargantuan restoration is astounding. From the extensive outdoor spaces, gardens, and the pool to the generous sized bedrooms and bathrooms everything worked perfectly to make this a beautiful place to stay. All the interior design details down to the soaps was impeccable. The heaters and small electric fireplaces heated the rooms quickly. This is restful and quiet place to stay while visiting Tomar and the surrounding area. Easy to get to and easy parking.

United StatesThe hosts are a very friendly and hardworking couple, helpful in every way. The 2 rental units are part of their private residence but both units have separate entrances. The quality of the furnishings, both exterior and interior, exceeded our expectations. Luis and Helena put lots of work and thought into this rental space. The tour of the property offered by the host (Luis speaks excellent English) is a treat in itself. The entire neighborhood is very charming and quiet. It's a quick and easy ride to Tomar, and the place can certainly serve as a base for exploring central Portugal by car. A lovely experience!

United States1. There are cats. I informed the owner of the property that I had an allergy to cats; he responded by saying "just shoo it away", which we did and the cat came right back in the room; probably was there a lot. There are no windows to open for air (this is an old stone animal barn, renovated to be livable), so one must open only the glass doors to the patio and there is no screen or barrier for incoming felines. I asked if he and I could create some kind of barrier that would still allow air in, and there was no response. I experienced bad allergy symptoms immediately and we had to leave a day early. Asked if we could be compensated for the additional day the owner replied "no worries, you paid already" so basically "too bad, tough luck". The lack of understanding that allergies to cats is a real thing that creates sinus problems and sickness was kind of astounding. The lack of empathy I would say was greed. 6 days later, I am still experiencing the effect of staying there, probably a sinus infections now, and is ongoing. By the way, the property says "so pets". 2. The building is surrounded by pipe staging since the owner was having construction work done on his own home that is the whole top of the building. This created a lack of space to park and we were told to park very close to a cement wall, almost scraping it, so traffic could pass. He clearly had places to park for himself that were not offered. 3. The interior walls are stone and I noticed when I wiped my hand over the surface, it came away with white dust. This must be plaster dust and could have been vacuumed away but instead flows through the air when you put on the very noisy, inefficient electric heaters that still left the "cave" (we now call it) incredibly cold. We slept with our clothes on. 4. To access the pool area, one has to go out into the street, around the pipe staging into the very narrow street with cars. I reached out to Booking.
The room decorations and furniture were very nice. The pool area is lovely with fruit trees and flowers. I guess we should have slept there.
