Great place in the North of Madeira. Perfect for the hikes around.

It was a bit cold when we arrived but we switch the heating and it worked perfectly, so nothing really we did not like.

The location was perfect for us as we wanted something in the North. It could be a bit closer to the center for us it was perfect, with a little supermarket up the road (2 min walking). The host is amazing, so nice, everything was perfect in place, clean and they offered some welcome cookies. The house is really comfortable and well prepared, specially for the 2 kids we had with us.

Very accommodating host, all the baby/toddler equipment we needed. Even bought a potty for our toddler when we asked if they had one.

We were here for 3 nights, we arranged check-in and check-out ourselves to our full satisfaction, upon arrival you just fill out the form and send a photo of it. The apartment is fully equipped, including a washing machine, microwave oven, kettle, toaster and kitchen utensils. The location is ideal for trips to Santana and nearby levadas. Parking is directly in front of the house. Wifi without problems :) Thank you

    Outside spaces are limited.

Accommodations were as described and worked great for us. Good access to PR1 / PR1.2 Pico Ruivo trails as well as PR9 Levada do Caldeirão Verde and PR18 Levada do Rei walks. House is very clean and comfortable. We were two couples with a baby. The three bedrooms worked well for us. We would book this property again.

Wonderfully comfortable house for exploring the beautiful island of Madeira
    • Leisure trip
    • Family with young children
    • Villa
    • Stayed 6 nights

We stayed over Christmas and, although the weather was wonderfully sunny, the temperatures were under 20 and much cooler at night so we felt the heating in the house sometimes struggled to reach a comfortable level especially in the mornings in the kitchen where there was no heating. It might be helpful to add a small heater there in the winter.

Our hostess Sandra and her mother were very welcoming, and we very much appreciated the homemade biscuits and madeira wine and fruit when we arrived and the traditional cake to take home with us. The house itself was beautifully decorated, the bedrooms in particular with their very comfortable beds, and we loved all the extra cushions, cozy blankets for the sofa and the generous supply of towels in the bathroom.

A clean, comfy apartment on the edge of Santana
    • Leisure trip
    • Group
    • Villa
    • Stayed 3 nights

The location did not really appeal to me personally, set among scattered houses and fields on the edge of Santana (which like most Madeiran villages is very widely dispersed), meaning we had to drive 5-10 mins to dinner and shops (apart from a small minimart 5 mins walk away). The kitchen opens onto a runaround balcony which would have been nice to use, but there was a sign on the door to the balcony saying to only use in an emergency, presumably because it is the access route for the upstairs apartment. So the only outside sitting space was the front veranda.

The apartment itself (not truly a villa as it occupies only the ground floor of a 2 storey house) was comfortable, clean and reasonably spacious - served our needs very well. It has 2 very comfy bedrooms (1 double 1 twin) plus a slightly smaller darker single bedroom, a decent shared bathroom with tub and overhead shower, a functional kitchen, and a tastefully decorated sitting room. Sandra - who we did not meet - was a very quick and efficient communicator.

    Comfort and convenience

The property is very conveniently located to the Santana houses, Pico Ruivo and other great hikes in the area. In order to get there you need a car. The house is very spacious with lots of special touch and decor. It has absolutely everything a family with kids would be needed for their stay.

The place has a veranda, but it is a bit too small for having lunch or dinner outside.

It is a nice, clean and well-kept house at a walking distance from Santana. The owner was extremely friendly and responsive. At our arrival we were welcomed with a bottle of Madeira wine and traditional cookies.

beautifully decorated flat and responsive host, though indoor humidity did affect overall confort

That said, we did find the apartment to be quite humid, which affected our overall comfort. The bedsheets often felt damp and cold, and there was a persistent musty smell whenever we entered the house. With some improvements on that front, this could be an excellent place to stay.

We had a pleasant stay at this charming villa. The house is nicely decorated, and the small terrace at the entrance is a lovely spot to relax — especially at sunset, when you can enjoy a distant view of the sun going down. The host was very responsive via WhatsApp, which we appreciated. The kitchen is decently equipped and allowed us to cook comfortably, although we did notice a lack of basic items like pepper.
