The place definitely needs some maintenance. Bathroom is quite mouldy and the shower head is broken (and was not fixed during the stay, even if the owner was noticed). Overall, quite humid rooms. Also the garden seems like it has potential, but it's overgrown with 1 meter grasses, which makes it not usable. Last but not least, as there is a common kitchen, it would have been nice to find oil, salt, and a few more basic ingredients.

The lady who runs the place was very nice and friendly. She also cleaned the common areas every day, so the place was really clean. Location is also good. The village has some local vibes, and there is enough facilities around, even if the place is in the country side.

Bathroom and Our room where a bit moldy and you could smell that (also in Our cloth). The humidity is quite high. We where there in May and everything was quite cold and no common heating available.

The room and the shared areas a clean and tidy. There is a cleaning Lady coming everyday to keep Things in order. The kitchen is well equiped and there are two bathrooms available for three rooms (one bathroom is outside). Two of the rooms have Access to a nice terrasse with a nice view to the ocean. There is enough space for the Cars.

Quiet, clean, peaseful, pure. I found this experience just perfect, it is incredible combination of well mainteined house, private big back yard where you can enjoy birds evening concerts and watching stars on cosy chairs, and cosy rooms. It is perfect both for intraverts (at least three common rooms you can rest and eat) and for socializing as well. Two toilets make it even more comfortable for girls. About cleaning-it is funny, but I guess it was too clean, really😄, ladies came every day, several times per day and everything was shining. I stayed for three nights, other ppl mostly for one, and they all told this place is the best and they would like to stay longer. I appreciated the quality of towels and matrasses as well, it was important after making trails One thing difficult for me was that the personnel in the house doesnt speaks English, and that i did not received information how to get by bus. but the owner answered immidiatelly when i had issue with finding the right door. And finally with, a help of google translate the lady which cleans the house teached me that there is a bus stop to go to Portu Moniz or Funschal just 200 from the house, it is Really important, i concider coming next time to Madeira and staing here again :)

Visiting in February, the biggest drawback was the cold. The entire building felt chilly, and the constant humidity was hard to ignore. Even with a dehumidifier, everything felt damp, but I guess that’s just part of the charm of the island’s northern coast. On the bright side, the location is great—just a 10-minute drive to Porto Moniz and its amazing natural pools. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly base to explore the area and don’t mind the humidity, this place does the job.

We chose this place because it was the most affordable option on the island, so we didn’t have high expectations. The apartment itself isn’t particularly stylish or unique, but it’s very clean and well-equipped, which was a big plus. The shared kitchen is spacious, and there’s even a summer kitchen with a garden, offering a beautiful view of the ocean—definitely the highlight of the stay.

The shower floor is made out of the same tiles that are on the wall. It's extremely slippy and unsafe. At some stage, someone will have a serious accident in there. Something needs to be done about it.

Decent place to stay for a few days, with a nice kitchen and a comfortable room. The cleaning lady that comes in daily was very accommodating. I'd be happy to stay again.

definitely very good for the summer, but not perfect to stay in January since it was quite rainy so we could not use the outside area. The interior of the house (common area) was quite cold too, and a little damp.

- Very spacey common area for 3 rooms - a lot of equipment for cooking - regular cleaning - free to use laundry and dryer - necessary in the rainy season - beautiful garden and terrace with an amazing view - quiet and calm surroundings - easy parking area (for small cars)

Bed was a bit hard in my opinion and the bathroom door was hard to unlock.

Nice common area including kitchen bathroom and living room and outside facilities as well ; the private room was good like the pictures show including heating. Everything very clean. The kitchen was well equipped only oil salt … were missing. Easy communication with the owner and we could have checked in earlier. We enjoyed it a lot!!

The absence of a person checking you in the place. I felt the key system was not the most functional. The 3 rooms in the house are next to each other and the doors handles are still a bit old school style so everytime someone leaves the room to go to the kitchen...shared bathroom...etc it makes some noise you hear in your room and might wake you up. There is no system to separately collect the trash. There is not much proper parking place. my suggestion was to change to some more silent handle options to open and close the doors. have some cleaning materials (broom) available in the kitchen so we can keep the communal space clean in case we need during our stay. and have some label on the kitchen cabinet showing the area where you can leave food (for communal use).

The kitchen is amazing with all the facilities and the place was very clean. Room was clean and also the shared toilet/bathroom. Instructions where clear regarding location and safety during the stay.

There is only one bath/toilet. With the 3 rooms occupied, we had to que for our turn at even 12 in the night and 8 in the morning. Its a rustic setting with cocks and hens in places nearby. Their sounds were regular and continuous from 5:30 am. We could not get a good night's sleep.

There was parking place for 3 cars that was necessary as all the 3 rooms were taken. We had to park in an alleyway next to the house but we had been informed about it beforehand. The bed linen and towels were clean. The room was sufficient size.

Very nice Place to stay over, small village Perfect für hiking! Beautiful view and a quite Place to relax. The only negativ Point is the humidity in the House which is the reason for a slight smell but Maria turned on the aircleaner which helped a lot. Thank you for this beautiful time!

It was a very nice stay, Casa da montanha is situated in a calm area, not far away from Porto Moniz and lava pools, but also quite close to Achadas da Cruz. The house is spacious, with great kitchen, lovely garden, and the room is clean and comfortable. Only the online communication with the owner was a bit slow, but apart from that everything was great.
