Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Loved the family run ambience, and the communal breakfasts and dinners, food was delicious and abundant, as well as the hospitality of Miguel and his port wines, a real traditional Quinta in Douro with amazing views

United StatesThere was not a thing we didn’t love.
The property is spectacular and our room was incredible- large with a sitting room, large lovely bath and very comfortable bedroom. The views were stunning. And maybe best of all was the dinner that all 16 guests shared around a big table. The owner/chef is a talented cook and we all enjoyed a delicious meal together with wine and port as a nightcap. It really was an evening to remember.

United StatesBe careful using google maps -- the directions take you on some poor quality roads.
We loved having the gourmet dinner and breakfast with the other guests. The food was delicious, and paired with their own wines and port. It was great to be in a quiet village away from the noise of the larger towns in the Douro. The views from the swimming pool were amazing. I wish we had stayed much longer!

United StatesWe loved the entire experience! I was only expecting a nice room with a pool in wine country. The estate itself has a lot of character (authentic, traditional) with vineyards and the owner curates this incredible dinner experience with all the guests and their wine. The location in the valley is great with magnificent views of the river too. The whole ambience was WAY more than I expected! We came with friends from Porto who I know plan to come back to the same place. That’s telling!

United StatesBreakfast and the optional dinner are family style (all around a large table)--a great way to meet other travelers. The dinner is amazing with three courses of really good food and plenty of wine/port before/during/after the meal. The owner and staff are wonderful, and have done a great job at creating a place with a relaxed atmosphere that encourages travelers to interact and get to know each other a little. The location is great with stunning views of the Douro valley.

CanadaThere is no open view of the Douro River but you are up very high with pretty views of the surrounding farms. It is quite an interesting drive to get up to the Quinta but definitely worth it!
We wanted to experience a stay at a Quinta and Quinta da Casa Cimeira was a great choice for us! Miguel, the host, welcomed us with a glass of port and a basket of dried figs and made us feel immediately at home. Our room was very cosy with a view of the courtyard and of the street. It is an old house with a lot of character and grounds to explore as well as a relaxing swimming pool. The dinner and wine pairings provided by the Quinta (at a reasonable extra cost) is excellent and a great opportunity to meet the other interesting guests staying there. The included breakfast is also wonderful. We weren't sure if the serving staff were family members or employees but it felt as though we were guests at someone's house.

United KingdomNothing we didn’t like, thought it was just wonderful!
It was an amazing stay at Quinta da Casa Cimeira!! We loved the location up in the vineyard, beautiful views over the Douro Valley. The accomodation was so well looked after and presented and the bedroom was super spacey and tastefully decorated. We were warmly welcomed with a glass of Port and so friendly with all the neccessary information provided and explained! We felt comfortable straight away. The dinner shared with the other guests around the big table was truly amazing. Such high quality and well prepared and so tasty. A true treat and great fun meeting new people! We believe it is a bargain priced at €35 which includes sparkling wine to start with, red wine with dinner and Port afterwards. Breakfast also excellent, fresh fruit, various breads, meat, local cheese and really good coffee. Good place to explore the sourrounding area, did a boat trip and went to a viewpoint. But also a great place to just relax by the pool and enjoy the peace and tranquillity! Thank you to all the staff for being friendly and attentive, we felt so well looked after!!
