Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. United StatesThere was a beautiful free spa with steam room, sauna and "hot tub". The hot tub is at 89F (which I think now is typical for Portugal?) We would have gone in if it were over 100F.
The hotel staff were exceptional. We were arrived in Lisbon after a tiring flight, were dropped off by Uber around the corner and were unsure of the best way to get to the hotel with our heavy luggage. We called and a minute later, a brawny guy came to our rescue and carried our luggage to the hotel with a smile. All the staff were helpful with great recommendations for dinners etc. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and the linens special. The water was fiercely hot. The bathroom fixtures looked brand new. Breakfast is in a lovely room. Fresh squeezed orange juice, honey dripping from a honey comb and a nice viariety of fruits, breads, made to order omelets etc. Again the staff could not be more accommodating. We visited at a very hot time of year and the AC made the room fiercely cold. Yay! The location is ideal for walking everywhere you want to be in Lisbon.

Delicious breakfast with everything you would want. A peaceful oasis with a spectacular view in the middle of a very busy city. Highly recommend and already miss our stay here!

The place is amazing with nice small pool, jacuzzi, sauna and turkish bath. Greatly appreciated complementary bottle of wine and the staff was very professional.

We fell in love with Casa Balthazar for it's very human, personal atmosphere - something you rarely find in big chain hotels. A big part of that feeling came from Yuran, the kind and helpful young man at the reception. Always smiling, attentive and ready to assist, he made us feel truly welcome from the moment we arrived to the evening before our early departure. We felt truly cared for. Beautifully served breakfast was delicious and generous, there is always a coffee and tea and a cake that you cannot resist available in a common area near reception. Our room was tastefully decorated and the bedding and linens were impeccable. It felt like staying in someone's beautiful home than a hotel. We were sad to leave. Thank you, dear Casa Balthazar!

The location was fantastic. In Chiado, in a bustling area with lots to see and do, and in the heart of Lisbon, but felt very relaxed. The staff were all really friendly and professional. Breakfast was delicious. The spa and pool were lovely but the hot tub with views over the city and castle was the real showstopper. (We were in Jacuzzi room 3) I really can't speak highly enough of the place! It looked perfect online but the reality was so much better

The location of Casa Balthazar was perfect for all the different places we wanted to see. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a large shower and good air conditioning. The breakfast room was lovely as was the food and pastries. I would definitely stay here again & try for a jacuzzi suite with a view.

We only had one night in Lisbon, the first night of a 3 week trip. Glad we stayed at Casa Balthazar. Very comfortable room and we were able to get some rest. Super location and easy to walk to local restaurants. Property is beautiful with nice sitting room, honor bar with some delightful orange cake. Breakfast was super and the service was great.

This was a very impressive property, beautifully furnished with spacious bedrooms and several lounge areas. The pool was heated to 26 degrees so a very comfortable temperature. There was delicious fresh orange cake provided every day and you could help yourself to tea and coffee and alcoholic drinks using an honesty system. The towels were of beautiful quality. The staff were very helpful recommending restaurants and the breakfast was excellent. It was located a 4 minute walk from the Rossio train station where we could catch a direct train to Sintra.

United StatesI describe Casa Balthazar as an oasis or sanctuary escape in the city. Our room had a family room and private patio with an in ground jacuzzi and reclining chairs. After a day of sightseeing and walking up and down the steep streets, it was amazing to come back for relaxation! The breakfast room and shared pool area was just beautiful! There was coffee, tea and scrumptious cake offered throughout the day and evening. The breakfast buffet was one of the best we had in Portugal! The service was lovely. It was our 1st destination on our tour through Portugal, and it was one of the best hotels we stayed at! Thank you to the staff!
