the only thing I didn’t like is that you get a sheet over over a blanket which means the blanket probably is not washed between guests and I personally don’t think that’s hygienic. Since it was very warm I only slept with the sheet anyways, so it wasn’t a problem for me.

I liked the proximity to restaurants, cafes and the seaside. The apartment was very spacious and provided everything you need, especially the kitchen, you could cook a proper meal there. When I was there it was super quiet at night, no music at all, not sure if that was due to a new law or off season but I had the best sleep. The bed was also very comfortable for my taste. Communication was also very excellent and I appreciated all the information received before and during my stay.

Being above the restaurants there was quite a bit of general noise, it didn't bother us and we had a couple of evenings with free live music from one of the bars. Nice. There was also night club that's only open Friday and Saturday but that was noisy

The apartment was spacious, clean and well appointed. the location was excellent, in the centre of the old town, it was close to all amenities and sea front. Not that we needed it but the restaurant below us was owned by the same people and the manager/staff were on hand to assist. beautiful island, lovely people

LOUD! Many of the reviews said the accommodation was noisy but one of the nights felt like we were sleeping in a night club. The bar opposite plays ridiculously loud music, if you are going to be out drinking late then this probably won’t cause you much of a problem but if you want early nights to do hikes the next day or a 5am start for the sunrise hike then it’s a problem ! The bed is also not the comfiest, very firm

Only disadvantage was communication prior to our visit - we received dozens of emails with tons of text, most of them totally irrelevant for us. They also kept sending the same information etc.

Noisey at night, but the price you pay sometimes for being in the midst of the hustle and bustle! Only has pedestal fans and apartment heats up quite a lot in the day - given the nightly noise outside you need to sleep with windows closed so ends up hotter than what I like. Would be a great addition to have proper ac unit.

Really nice stay, plenty of space and everything you need. Clean and they let us check in early which is always appreciated. Good central location, we hired a car and the parking was only a 2 min walk away from apartment.

There was a smell coming from the drain.

Right in the middle of the old town, on the oldest street in Funchal. The steps to our apartment right on top was very, very steep. Not advisable for elderly patrons. The property is well kept, and fully furnished with all the cooking implements needed for a longer stay as a family. Lovely stay!

The only downside was that it was a bit noisy on a night due to the restaurant below and other restaurants nearby, but by 11pm everything was quiet.

Property excellent. Location, facilities and staff all excellent. Bar immediately opposite played excessively loud music until the early hours, i e. 2am. No fault of the apartment, which we thoroughly enjoyed, but a major disadvantage.

No elevator, so if you have large suitcases... it may be a challenge climbing those stairs. Exceptionally loud, annoying music coming from one of the establishments downstairs which carried on throughout the night until early hours of the morning. We could not sleep despite closing the windows and bedroom door. With a heavy heart, we left after one night. If you're a light sleeper or have children, this might not be the place for you.

Excellent location, the owners are completely correct. The description of the apartment states that it has 98 square meters, but there are no more than 60. The extra bed is uncomfortable and at night too noisy from the disco that is under the window. There is no terrace. Nicely equipped with everything you need. Recommendation

The appartment was located above a night club and we had music very loud every night... So we could not open the doors to get fresh air, because of the noise, and we had no air conditionner, so it was so hot inside we could not sleep at night...

Very nice and big apartment, kitchen with all you need! 🙂 Very good location Close to restaurants, supermarket and bakery 🧁 Close to téléphérique 🚠 to go to Monte (18 euros) Close to the cathedral and the ocean walk Taberna Ruel restaurant under the apartment makes you a 10% discount, it is a good restaurant quality. I recommend the lapa, the tuna fish 🐟, choice one for two so you have place for dessert after. Advice : go early! visit the East of the island for 34 euros all day, buy ticket in a kiosk like Madeira excursions by the oceans’walk. Very interesting excursion 9:15 am to 5 pm 🤩🤩🤩
