A wonderful host - very welcoming and kind-hearted. A lovely place with a beautiful view. There is parking available on the street near the house. We were also greeted with a treat upon arrival, which was a lovely surprise. Highly recommend.

Luis was an absolutely amazing host! Before we even had a chance to unload the car, he greeted us warmly and took us to a local pub down the road for a drink - his treat - where we had the chance to get to know him. He’s incredibly friendly, welcoming, and full of great recommendations for exploring Madeira. Having grown up on the island, he knows it inside and out. Luis has beautifully transformed his basement into two stunning guest suites. Ours was tastefully decorated and included thoughtful touches like wine and fresh fruit to welcome us. The location on the west side of the island is ideal—central enough to make traveling to all parts of Madeira easy. In our experience, the west side offers a more convenient base for exploring. Throughout our stay, Luis checked in every couple of days, always with a kind gesture, bringing fruit from his garden and even leaving us a lovely parting gift. The suite also boasts breathtaking views, and we were lucky enough to witness a double rainbow after the rain. Our stay was truly magical, and we can’t recommend Luis and his beautiful suite highly enough!

nothing everything was good

the hosts were very kind and friendly and would go out of their way to make you stay very enjoyable. wifi good, nice poncha bar serving excellent food a two minute walk away. lovely quiet location, with great views from the balcony of the ocean, mountains and ravine with birds of prey soaring past. well equipped kitchen and a washing machine/dryer. we look forward to returning to this apartment and meeting luis and his family again.

Absolutely nothing

Very clean and very well equipped apartment with wonderful ocean and sunset view from the terrace, everything is practically new. The owner is simply amazing - he invited us for drinks and regularly brought us some fruits, always ready to help and share tips. We had really wonderful vacation because of hospitality of the owner. Free parking on street. Two minutes walk to great poncha bar. Five minutes drive to Calheta Beach. Twenty minutes drive to PR6 levada hikes.

Luis is an amazing host (the best I have ever met during my travels), very friendly, helpful and attentive. He invited us for drinks when we arrived and he even brought us fresh fruits regularly. The apartment looks exactly like on the pics, it is nice, modern, very clean, very well equipped and you have a wonderful sunset view from the terasse. Free parking in front of the house. Location is perfect to discover the island.

This lovely apartment is really comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen and a terrace that we loved so much, with a view on the ocean and sunset during the evenings! I can only recommend this stay. Absolutely nothing, everything was amazing.

If I could give more than five stars, I would! My stay was truly exceptional, thanks to the incredible hospitality of Luis. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with a warm smile and a genuine eagerness to ensure my stay was perfect in every way. Luis went above and beyond to make me feel welcome, providing thoughtful touches that made me feel at home immediately. Every detail was carefully attended to, from the spotless cleanliness of the space to the thoughtful amenities provided. Whenever I had a question or needed assistance, Luis was incredibly responsive and helpful, offering not just answers but also excellent recommendations that made my trip even more memorable. That we weren't staying a few more days as it was such a great location

The apartment was perfect for our few days in Calheta, it was so clean with a beautiful view from the balcony, its location is in a lovely quiet area and there is a really nice pub just 1 minute away, the owner Luis was so nice and helpful. The apartment has everything you need to enjoy a few days in Calheta with the beach just a 6 minute drive away. Idyllic

We chose this place to explore the west part of the island and it was a perfect starting point for all the places we wanted to visit. Multiple famous Levadas are only 20 min away by car. Parking was available right in front of the apartment. The place was nice and tidy, everything is practically new. A big plus was the balcony with a lovely view where we enjoyed our dinners during sunset. Special thanks goes to the lovely Luis (owner), who is a really great guy!

This is a good property with a great value. Maybe you find others, but having someone like Luis is hard to find. You feel welcomed and like a close guest that comes in visit. Regarding parking, is on the road like most of the parking in Madeira Rooms are bigger than they look in the photos, usually it’s the other way around. There is a bar nearby and if you want to eat around, either a small hike or 5 min by car.

The apartment is good, solid, modern, with a wonderful view from the balcony to the sea and the mountains. The owner Luis, is a very good man: when I got sick,he took me to the town's hospital, he constantly fed me avocados and bananas, and when I was leaving, he took me to another town and showed me around the most beautiful places off island.Thank you and i will be back again!

Everything was perfect

The apartment has a splendid location; it’s peaceful and quiet and the sunny balcony overlooks the green valley and ocean. Everything is new and clean and you can find more than you need in the very many cupboards and drawers. There is a nice bar in the neighbourhood, with very long hours, where you can have great drinks and snacks, and where Luis, the host invited us for a welcome drink. Luis’ exceptional care and hospitality made our stay unforgettable. Thank you once again, Luis:)

The studio/apartment was spacious comfortable well equipped and felt brand new. The views were lovely and the area peaceful and quiet. We had visited Madeira last year, hired a car and visited most sights and walks that are difficult to reach and stay by bus.This year we spent the first half of our trip in Funchal and this was our beachy part of the holiday travelling only by bus. Initially we were going to stay very close to the beach but we felt this accommodation was more suited to us despite being up in the hills. We are so glad we did. We would walk down to the beach in the morning which even for our sixty year old legs was an enjoyable if steep walk (45 minutes) and get a taxi back in the evening which only cost 6-7 euros. We would shop in our favourite supermarket (Pingo Dolche) in Calheta and bring our groceries back in the taxi. We self catered most evenings but the Poncha bar around the corner did great food for odd evenings. On the way there we used the number 80 bus which dropped us at the beach and we got a taxi from there We then discovered that bus 142 stopped opposite the Poncha bar and we returned by a beautiful route to Funchal. This bus could also take you to various points on the west of the Island. Everything you read in other reviews about how wonderful and kind Louis and his family are if anything are understated. Highly Recommended
