How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The kitchen needs renovation and a good clean-up
Thank you, Alex, from the reception for a great stay, and very detailed information about the local sites! The room was good, the AC worked well and we didn't have any problem with parking.

Like: Very very clean. Excellent location. Staff were great. Room was a great size. Quiet. Great for a family. Easy check in. Not my favourite: Room doesn't have its own fridge. The kitchen is shared with all guests but not a big deal.

Unfortunately, the most accommodation in Algave have in general, a lot of humid. The rooms are very humid. The humid smell is very strong.
Fantastic location. View minutes to the old fish market and very close to the ferries. Restaurants and pubs are all close by.Very good for single travellers. Extrem friendly staff. You feel very welcome. There is a common kitchen. The kitchen has everything you need. They clean the room every day. Everything is very clean. It has a hostel vibe. You have your own room with a full bathroom. I felt save.

We stayed for three nights in this little place: it was a jolly and happy atmosphere, and it had more of a "hostel" vibe, with a shared kitchen, a shared terrace, and rooms carved out around a tiny open court (full with plants) in the middle of old buildings, in the center of Olhāo. The place is pet-friendly, so we encountered cats here and there, from guests and from the hotel. A purrfect plus :) The room was simple and it had everything we needed, the bathroom was recently renovated (with a few pieces that were not in super good shape, but manageable), and they cleaned the room every day. The people working there were amazing, super nice, and very helpful with tips for food, places to go, etc.

It might be difficult to park your car to get your things out of the car, but it's easy to find parking space some streets further to the North

During the night there was a lot of noise from the plumbing.
The location was excellent on a quiet street in the old part of town very near the market and sea front. All the rooms had more beds than we expected so we had a good choice. There were kitchen facilities if we wanted them. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The room was a bit cramped.
Top location, we got parking right next to the hotel (you've to be lucky though). Clean and comfortable! Spacious and very close to the sea. Kitchen well equipped. Friendly host.

Stairs were steep and not necessarily safe. It was hard to get our luggage up and then to bring it back down at the end of our stay. No complaints other then that.
Really loved this stay, we chose the room with the private washroom. It was right next to the busy area (restaurants and shops) and a few minutes walk to the ferries we had to take to the beach (4.20 euros to go and come back). Also they had a really cute terrace area that was really nice to use and relax.

Due pedestrianisation on a nighttime was a little hard to find. If we had been earlier would have been easy as the roads would have all still been open.

Lots of little repairs needed around the shared areas - kitchen, staircase to top floor , bathroom fittings.
Our room was properly cleaned every day and we had fresh towels daily too. The air on kept the room cool enough to sleep in.
