Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicThe building is quiet old, so the soundproofing is very bad, I could here every step or sneeze of the neighbors, also everything they did in the bathroom. The pipes in the bathroom were making noises all the time, it disturbing if you don’t sleep tight, because you can hear it during the night too.
The location was great, quiet neighborhood with villas, about 25 min walk to the beach, the bus stop is right around the corner. Train station is 10 min walk away, different grocery stores in the area. The stuff was very nice, friendly and helpful :) They let mi check in earlier, and leave my luggage in the villa after I checked out in the end of the trip. The room was small, but cozy. The breakfast were the same everyday in the form of a buffet, but not much to choose from, if you are vegetarian/vegan.

United KingdomThe room was poor, with broken lights and a sofa, the shower was in a very bad condition, the toilet was very uncomfortable. When I was booking the room it was supposed to be with a balcony, which wasn't on arrival. The room wasn't ready.

FinlandOur stay was less than ideal for the price, as we struggled to get enough sleep on the first two nights of our three-night stay. Despite that, the breakfast was very enjoyable – I don’t understand the complaints about it. We had three breakfasts, and they were the best part of the accommodation. We arrived at 7:40 pm, but there was no one to check us in and no instructions left for us. We had to make a call to get assistance, and nobody responded to my prior message to inform them of our arrival. I can’t imagine how other guests without phone access might manage in this situation. Upon entering, there was a strong smell of chlorine. The bed and pillow were very basic and in need of an upgrade. There was no soundproofing in this converted Airbnb—don’t believe that it is a “2-star hotel” written on Google Maps. We could hear other guests and street noise very clearly – if you’re sensitive to noise, this is not the best choice. The check-in process was challenging. Although the breakfast staff were kind, the owner/manager didn’t bother to be responsive at all to messages, and any attempts to address issues or concerns went largely unanswered. For example, the shower faucet was broken and had to be held to use. There were disturbances with other guests next door—they were laughing and talking so loudly with their door open after midnight and also very early in the morning, and although I spoke to the owner about it, he didn’t bother to reply to messages at all. I asked if we could be refunded for the third night so we could stay elsewhere, we expected a more considerate approach but I had to call him again in order to get a response. Overall, our trip to Gdansk was negatively affected by these issues. I wouldn’t recommend this accommodation if you’re looking for a peaceful stay. If soundproofing and a comfortable atmosphere are important to you, this might not be the best option.

Czech RepublicWorst. Mold in the bathroom, the smell in the entire apartment due to this, non-functioning heating - the room was cold, there was no hot water all day after our arrival, it was solved after many hours, but by that time we had already left the accommodation and sent a complaint. The wardrobe which is falling down as it´s unscrewed that can be dangerous for children. The entire guesthouse is unmaintained and in poor condition. Tourist trap.

FinlandBecause of small kids we had to pay more for the room (which we understood ), but the additional charge was taken from our card without informing us about it and without our agreement. Communication with the manager was very unpleasant and difficult. During our stay we received a message from him claiming, that we left a horrible mess after eating, which was not true. We felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome there. The bathroom was not very clean, with damp marks in many places.
The room was spacious, comfortable beds, breakfast was delicious and the staff at the breakfast was very kind and helpful.
