How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. A hostel in a student dormitory, furnished with 1970s furniture and bedding. The atmosphere feels like stepping back in time to the communism.

Our building, located in a former student dormitory, retains some of its original character, which we understand may not appeal to every guest. While some find the retro aesthetic nostalgic or unique, we acknowledge that it may not suit all preferences. Verified reviewThe hostel is clean, and the rooms are very comfortable, with regular beds and plenty of space. The staff is very helpful, friendly, and speaks English well. There is access to a laundry, kitchen, and common room. The hostel has a friendly atmosphere and is very affordable.
Unfortunately, the hostel does not have lockers for personal belongings; there is only a luggage storage room.

This is probably just me being an idiot but when it said “private room” I assumed it was just going to be me but it was actually me and two other people. Kinda stressful because I was traveling with a ton of expensive camera gear but they did offer to keep my bags behind the front desk and my room mates were very chill so it wasn’t a big deal at all.

It was not even a pro hostel but rather a university dormitory. Shared toilet ? Ok fine? But toilets are different, washing area is different and shower area is different. Still rather clean. BUT THE KUTCHEN ( even the staff would agree) HAD ,LIKE, NOTHING !!

Verified reviewStaff were lovely, beds were a good size and there was plenty of room for our stuff. Plus the large fridge in the room was handy. We were glad we could check in super late and that reception was staffed 24/7. The prices for the room was really good and the hostel was right next to multiple shops and a tram stop.
There was a lot of dust on the floor of the room and the bedsheet didn't actually cover the entire mattress. There were times where the toilets were not in a nice state or had no toilet roll. On the last two nights there were guests outside in the courtyard until about 2am drinking and talking which meant we had very little sleep.

Verified reviewI booked a bed in a female dormitory, so I was nicely surprised it was a room with only 3 beds. It also had a fridge, what was useful.
What I didn't like at all: A man using female bathrooms and toilets, when he was told it is female, he ignored. Not nice guys walking around on the corridors and talking loudly, arguing and being slightly aggressive, the kind I consider dangerous. Only one key for the room - so there was no way to lock the door as long as all of us have not been inside, it didn't help to feel safe. In general the place looks like an old school or a hospital, what also doesn't give a nice impression.

Verified reviewThe hostel is well located, there are different means of transportation to get to various places in the city, and the hostel staff was very friendly.
I didn't have a key to get into the room, so I had to leave it open or go to reception. I had a terrible roommate who spent his time drinking and getting drunk. The bathrooms were apparently cleaned every other day, but there are too many people using them, so they need to be cleaned daily.

Verified reviewThe location is really good, with plenty of connections to the city and a convenience store nearby. The room is also nice for two people. It includes a refrigerator, a desk, a table, and chairs. There is also a shower, toilet, and washroom exclusively for female guests. You’ll need to bring your own towel and hairdryer.
The only downside is the noise from other rooms. Even with the doors closed, you can still hear sounds from neighboring rooms. However, when we reported this to the staff, they were very kind and went to the room to politely ask them to be quieter😊
