How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe size of the apartments. It must’ve been a 4 star hotel many many years ago, but because of location, the disgusting smell, bad management and outdated furniture it is sadly at best only a 2 star hotel now.
Where do I start? There are so many things…. First of all, in the rooms are pieces of paper from the hotel bribing guests with discounts on their next stay if they leave a good review with Booking.com. So, that automatically devalues any good review you read because you can’t trust that people aren’t just writing it for a discount! Second of all, the property must be lying on a sewage canal or a garbage dump because there is constantly a disgusting smell around the hotel which stops you from opening the windows. The shower head in our bathroom was so mouldy we had to ask to have it replaced or cleaned straight away! The closest access to the beach was up about 5 flights of stairs which was very inconvenient as we had a pram to push up each time and on one flight of stairs the ramp which someone had handmade went into the railing so you couldn’t even use it! It was very tricky with a baby and pram! The hotel claims to have free wifi throughout but not once could I connect to it nor was it written anywhere for the guests to use. When I tried to approach the reception desk, the woman was rude and told me impolitely to just wait! There was no soap or not even a soap dispenser in the lobby bathrooms! The beds are too soft and need updating! The pillows were a joke! I could literally fold my pillow into quarters, that’s how little the stuffing was inside them! We booked exactly the same room as my in-laws and they got a dining table and chairs in their room which they didn’t need but we did need that as we have 2 kids. The receptionist should’ve know that when we were checking in together that we have kids so maybe we should have the room with the dining table and chairs. I call this bad management!

Verified reviewA clean, newly renovated room with excellent food, a great pool, and a relaxing sauna.
The property offers open parking- 15 Euro per day ; however, the staff had limited proficiency in English or German. Additionally, the children’s playroom appeared outdated, and could benefit from updates.

Verified reviewComfy, large room
crowded breakfasts and dinners, not enough space, some items ran out quickly so when we came later, some desserts were already gone. Some items in the room and spa were broken - missing tiles, cracked tiles, missing parts - this needs a better attention and maintenance. WiFi was not working - maintenance said it works for him fine - we couldn't make it run on any of our 6 phones and 2 tablets. There was a super loud wedding in the hotel that ruined our last night, they were noisy, drunk and intolerant, continuing till 5am in front of the hotel, using pyrotechnics. Fortunately the hotel compensated us for this trouble in a fair way.

Verified reviewThe apartmen/room wasbbig enough. Sea is just 10 minute walk away.
Free parking means: you can park 100 meters away inthe street, if you can find a free one. Pool: it's a joke. The poolis extremly small. Breakfast: it is located in an other hotel. You have to go outside of the building. The furniture is little bit old and dusty. The receptionists are not speaking english (nor german). It's clearly not a 4* hotel :(

Verified reviewThe apartment is quite spacious that is a big advantage. Food is of a good quality, good choice and delicious. The staff in the restaurant is very friendly and helpful (unlike at the reception). The beach nearby is perfect.
Although the apartment is big it’s quite useless. There’s a kitchen but almost no kitchenware and nothing to clean with. There is nothing you could even clean rubbish from the floor or table. People at the reception don’t really speak any languages except Polish and it’s difficult to explain anything to them. The tile in our apartment was broken, we reported it but nothing was made. The beds and especially sofa are horribly uncomfortable. There’s a big balcony but nothing on it (no chairs, table, or even a rack to dry a towel outside). Shortly a big but completely useless and uncomfortable apartment. Sauna area is very small without any area you could relax after, just a few plastic sunbeds by the pool.

Verified reviewBig, cozy and clean room with a very nice and modern interior! Breakfast and dinner buffets were good and with a good variety. The coffee was good. The hotel ist close to the beautiful beach. The price is very affordable.
The buffets need more vegetarian options. Some of the "warm" dishes were a little cold, especially when a lot of people ate at the same time. The beds are two single beds put together and there is a gap in-between. Double beds would be more comfortable. The sauna is very close to the swimming pool where all the kids are playing so its not very calm and therefore difficult to fully relax.

Verified reviewI will start with the Pros. All staff, although most seem angry or bored all the time are very nice and helpful. Most don't speak English, but most speak German. They made all the possible effort to understand us and make sure we were comfortable. Even though it seemed to be forbidden, for example, to take plates and cutlery to the bedroom (so yes, please read NO ROOM SERVICE), our baby was exhausted and the a la carte restaurant lady understood it and let us bring our food to the bedroom. We did not try the Spa (read Massage and relaxing rooms) but it also seemed nice, although all explanations and massage types were in Polish, which for us suggested that foreigners were not welcome there. The food was pretty good for the price in the a la carte restaurant, and good in the buffet (not so fresh and although varied, on the fat-heavy side). Breakfast was pretty good, with lots of variety, but while the bread was good, the buns seemed to have seen more days than I would have expected. They were super hard, like 3-day old bread. The little croissants, when from the same day, were also delicious. The bedroom was very spacious and at first glance well designed (but only until you started using it. More on that down). At last, the area for kids is good, even for small kids, with varied toys (but lots of broken toys too!) and if the kids are not bothered by colder water (27oC swimming pool), they might have a lot of fun. All in all, I would say staff was 9/10, food was 8.5/10, and the room (we got one with a little sliding door separating the bedroom from the "living room") was 7/10, kids' areas (2 playrooms and swimming pool area) 8.5/10.
If you think you are going to a relaxing affordable spa hotel, think twice. Our problems started on Friday afternoon, when we arrived and tried to find a parking place on the side of the hotel. We saw that the parking was not free but the parking machine didn't take our card. About 10-12 minutes after our arrival, between parking, going to get money, and getting back to the machine to pay for it, we got a 60EUR fine. Parking is NOT offered by the hotel and the only free parking is almost always full (and we went in winter!). The Baltic Plaza Hotel Medi Spa ("4 star") is more of a budget Family Hotel. The 3 saunas are in fact IN the swimming pool area. The swimming pool is super full and super loud. This is shared with their new "twin hotel" (Blue and Green, where the restaurant is located). So about all rooms for 2 hotels are sharing one small swimming pool which gets uncomfortable with 15 people in it already, and two 3-people jacuzzis. Moreover, everywhere things are falling apart, and nobody seems to care. Broken furniture, door isolation hanging in the middle of the door, our bathroom door stuck to the floor, pretty uncomfortable sofa couch, main shower not working, and completely broken "air system", which even if programmed for cooling to 19oC, kept on heating up to 22oC or 23oC, to name a few. We did have a kitchen in our apartment, but what is it worth when there is only a sink, and a kettle? Even the mini-bar's temperature was almost the same as the bedroom's. The hotel is 4km from the center of the little town Kolberg. In winter, both restaurants around the hotel are closed. One last point: although I generally have no problem and most dogs are very well educated, the hotel accepting lots of dogs means barking and peeing, which I find unacceptable. To sum up, if you have kids that can stay busy in the swimming pool while you chill in your bedroom, great.

Verified reviewWide choice of foodboth for breakfast and dinner, very delicious, kids loved the pancakes, we appreciated the fish. The room was spacious. The beach is not far. I was afraid of noise from the new buildings being erected around. Thus, I asked for a quite room and the reception gave us one which was on the opposite side. Anyway, the place was not noisy.
Parking is paid extra, however there are some free spaces in the city parking round the corner. We xisited hte hotel in the prime season, so it was a bit difficult to find empty space.

Verified reviewNothing. The location of the Hotel description misrepresented. The location is not a beach front as described, but 500 meters beyond woods-in the middle of a housing estate, far away from any amenities. There was a lots of building work going on, on resident flats right in from of our windows. There was no telephone in the room and as such no communication with the reception in case of a guest emergency or a fire. The reception was closed after 18.00 and the reception staff whilst they were working, both the receptionist and the manager were very rude. I would not be recommending this hotel to anyone.
