How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewvery cozy apartment, clean and well decorated as in the pictures, right above a central but quiet street where you can find anything you would need.
the key instructions were more complicated than they need to be, the elevator was hazardous and should be mentioned that it cannot open from the inside when you are on the floor of the apartment (so one person has to use the stairs so they can open the door from outside of the elevator) and the bed was uncomfortable (very thin mattress with wooden support). Also we received a kind of passive-aggressive message from the owner before we arrived to not throw anything other than toilet paper in the toilet which could have been put in a way kinder way. Other than this it was value for money to spend a day in Lodz.

Verified reviewThe location is excellent – just near the main tourist street with shops, caffes etc. We stayed only one night, so it was perfect for us because we had a chance to take a walk and see something of the city as well. We also used the parking which was free and safe. The room was okay for one night.
Squeaky floors.

Verified reviewThe location was great
The apartments were not clean - there were stains on the bathroom door, walls and bed frame, the wardrobe was falling apart, the toilet seats were broken in both bathrooms. The person who should be replying to queries was not replying to messages or phone calls.

Verified reviewThe location is convenient, and there is a Żabka store right next to the entrance. The apartment has a kitchen stand with all the appliances you need for your stay, as well as a table, wardrobe and a few stands, which are very useful if you have a lot of stuff, like I do. The apartment was clean overall.

Verified reviewApartment is clean and neat. Has everything you need for a couple of nights stay. Nice contact with manager.
If you would like to cook something, except for a small breakfast... well, you simply cannot (unless you travel with your own set of pans). During cold and windy days it can get chilly. WiFi tends to be moody :))

Verified reviewThe apartment was very centrally located, right beside the famous Piotrkowska Street and also near the main train station for ease of travel. The apartment itself was very modern and clean. I would stay again.

Verified reviewThe only positive aspect of this property was its location. It’s conveniently close to the main street and situated in a charming, beautiful street that gave off an Italian vibe. Unfortunately, this was overshadowed by the many issues we experienced during our stay.
We had an extremely disappointing experience with this property, largely due to the host’s poor management and lack of responsibility. We specifically booked this accommodation because of the self-check-in option, as we were arriving at 4 a.m. However, when we arrived, the key was missing, and we were unable to enter the property. This forced us to find a nearby hotel to sleep in, which resulted in unexpected costs. I contacted the host as soon as possible, but he didn’t call back until after 7 a.m. He blamed another guest for taking both keys by mistake. While I tried to be understanding, the situation clearly reflects poor organization on the host's part. When I politely requested a refund for the night due to the inconvenience and extra expenses, the host refused, saying it was our issue for arriving at 4 a.m., without offering a proper apology or accepting any responsibility. I had to open dispute with Booking. When we finally accessed the flat, the disappointment continued. While it was superficially clean (sheets, floors, bathroom), it was clear that the space hadn’t been deeply cleaned in quite some time. The kitchenette was barely stocked with the basics, and the Wi-Fi was so slow it was practically unusable. Additionally, the property is shared with another unit the host rents out, and the walls are extremely thin. We could hear every movement the other tenants made, from squeaky floors to doors opening and closing. Several times, it sounded as though someone was entering our apartment because the noise traveled so easily. To make matters worse, the cleaner played loud weird music during the day, which was disruptive and unpleasant, given the poor soundproofing. What left the worst impression, however, was the host's lack of accountability and clear greed. Even the soap provided was watered down, which says a lot about the overall experience. We will not be returning and do not recommend this property to anyone.

Verified reviewThe location was excellent. It was very close to town with a convenience store very close by. It had a good bathroom with a lovely shower.
We didn't like that it had no air-conditioning or fan. It was a very hot night during a heat wave and we had to sleep with the window open. It was VERY noisy outside so we did not sleep well. The cleaning wasn't good, there were crumbs left in the fridge, soap rings left in the bathroom, crockery was unclean.
