We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

South AfricaThe mini house is very small (as the name implies) and the bathroom is very basic. The water pressure is too low to use the shower, so one has to bathe by scooping water with a pail from a large bucket. This is however not unusual for Palawan Island. The staircase to the bedroom is very narrow and steep (not suitable for large or physically impaired individuals). Only solar power is available and there is no mobile phone reception or internet. From the other reviews, this is what we expected, and it did not bother us, as we are used to "roughing it" a bit from time to time. Some more comfortable seating and some beach chairs would be a welcome addition.
The property is at the end of a beautiful beach that is only 45 minutes by car from Puerto Princessa. Cassie and Mariselle met us at the beach parking area and looked after us very well. We especially enjoyed the barbeques and good conversations with them. The beach also has some nice waves for body surfing. It was also fun to drive our car on the beach to get to the property (as there is no road from the beach parking area to the property). Cassie acquired an ATV during our stay to collect guests and their luggage from the beach parking area. Be sure to notify Cassie of your arrival time so that you don't have to walk down the beach to the property.

New ZealandThe host tried to make as much money with us as possible. It started with a taxi ride for 2k while we got bikes for 3 days for 2k and had other taxi offers for 1.5k. Locals always try to take advantage of tourists.. We expect to get the house on the pictures and not some other house
The house was at the beach, we got everything we need. It was a very good stay.

SpainVery small. Difficult access, you have to walk with luggage through the beach, to access the property. You could try to drive, but only with big SUV. No power - only solar power. With no sun, no power almost at all. I had to choose between the fan and the light, even so, it lasted only few hours. Almost no water - no shower. Forget a/c, wi-fi and crazy stuff like this
Just in a beach

MalaysiaDescription on remoteness could be better. Signal is really zero, hence really need to be sure on check in times otherwise you'll wait. Better to have a backpack and no luggage, as need to cross a small river
The property is right in front of the beach, in a serene location

GermanyTo come to the place you have to cross a river at the beach which is quite deep at high tide. The other house which is part of the place blocks the sea view which looked way different in the pictures. You have a small porch but there is no real seating area and you feel a little bit crammed. There were no power sockets in the mini house to charge your electrical devices. The kitchen isn't a shared kitchen (or we haven't been told). But it didn't seem that we could have used it. There is a showerhead but it has no pressure at all and you will have to shower by pouring water from a small bucket over your body. In former reviews we read that food is served at the accommodation. We also got breakfast once but we had the impression that it was a burden to the owner and that she wanted us to go to one of the limited restaurants at the beach to have our meals. All in all it's overpriced.
It was very clean. We got beach towels. Owners seem to be nice. There were some clotheslines where we could hang our wet bathing clothes.

United KingdomOne of the downsides to being so isolated is that the water is sometimes sparse and there isn’t much signal (depending on the provider). However this can be seen as a positive if you’re looking for real isolation.
The location on the beach was fantastic, everyday we lounged around on the beach and in the evenings we ate lovely home cooked meals by Cassy and Marisel. Although we spent most of the time not doing much there was still plenty of other things to do around, boat tours, walks, surfing and general exploring were very fun. Can’t recommend this place enough if you’re looking for a cheap beach shack in a beautiful, isolated location.

SpainThe bungalow is not very cozy, there’s no shower, the roof because of the humidity dropped water all night on the bed.
The location is awesome and the hosts are very welcoming and ready to help!

AustriaCassy is a amazing host ! she offered to have dinner with her and she even managed to bring our phone to El Nido because we forgot it at her place…. we celebrated New Years together and walked along the stunning beach. this is the perfect getaway for some alone time or be with locals. my boyfriend and I enjoyed the Minihouse very much and would go back any time. I totally fell in love with it and it‘s view when you wake up.
