Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing, our stay was amazing.
Paradise and off the beaten track but easy to get a tricycle to the town. Staff really friendly and helpful. Rooms spacious and comfortable and the food was amazing. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again 😀

United KingdomThe access road is rough, no fridge in the room and the service was very slow even when empty - up to 25 minutes to get a cafetière of coffee. External add ins were comparatively expensive to other local providers and not great - eg the diving and coordination with Blue Orchid - the boat could pick up rather than having to use a tuktuk to get us to the dive school with a 15-30 minute ride. The boat also broke down. I also got lunch at blue orchid during the surface break which caused diarrhoea. No disrespect to the dive master but it would be better to go to an external dive business and arrange your own trip. The owners could improve the customer focus, attention to detail and value by training staff to a consistent level and putting a bit more thought into the overall service.
Once there the setting was good especially being able to swim in the sea. The water and tea were good. Some staff were good making a lot of effort to help

BelgiumWe truly had a relaxing vacation here, even though it was just a 2-night stay. The host was very responsive, happily answering all our questions and arranging diving and transportation in advance. The suggestions provided were both helpful and timely. The room was exceptionally comfortable and clean. What made it even more special is that the hotel is located right by the sea — you can enjoy the sunset and listen to the waves from your balcony. Just a small tip: you might want to bring a container to fill with water, as bottled water isn’t provided in the room.

GermanyAfter three days in Moalboal, I was looking for a quiet place to simply relax. A 20-minute scooter ride later, I arrived at the Wild Orchid, where my wish was absolutely fulfilled. A very nice location, surrounded by beautiful scenery, a small beach, a great pool, friendly staff and a large room with high ceilings awaited me – peace and quiet :).. Great stay for two nights.

Saudi ArabiaReally great place for a quiet getaway. The rough road to get there was worth it for the peace and quiet. Food here was excellent, the best i have had on my trip, and I am a fussy eater... You can walk straight out of your room and into the water to go snorkeling. Nobody here will bother you with annoying rules and regulations. Just go and enjoy yourself. I will most likely come back here. Hopefully on my return there will be a fridge in the room, as that is the only thing I can think that was a slight negative.

United KingdomA beautiful place to stay. The sunsets are amazing! Gorgeous complex with clean and spacious rooms. The food is outstanding - especially the choice of breakfasts all day which is perfect for not so early risers! Hospitality is outstanding- the nicest group of people who made our stay even better. The resort is quiet and relaxing. Overall one of the best resorts we have stayed in during our travels across the Philippines.

United KingdomNothing it was lovely
You know what…we arrived on a extremely wet afternoon in March after a 3.5 hr journey from Oslob and where immediately welcomed by 2 very smiley faces who made us feel immediately at home (love the Philippines) The location is amazing but a little cut off for those looking for night life who should definitely go further south. We originally planned for 1 night but stayed for 3. We loved just chilling out, exploring by renting some bikes and trying one of Sarah’s yoga classes. I had been canyoneering the previous day and my knees where sore but Sarah’s yoga class worked wonders. My overall impression was of a lovely resort in a great location with very friendly and welcoming staff, it is a great mixture of Philippines and westerners. Would definitely go back if I find myself in the southern Philippines again

United KingdomHotel is new but not very modern. The chairs for dinner are not very comfy, they could add some more comfy ones to have a drink. Pretty far from town with shops and restaurants and the road to the property is very bad.
Nice hotel, staff are lovely. View is great. Bed is comfy and the room is very big with nice terrace.

United KingdomThe pool looks nice but we did not go in as we can see small, dead insects as it is an open pool which is understandable. No tv but it's not a problem for me.
I like the place as it is remote and quiet. Nice view of sunrise and sunset. The staff are friendly. The food is yummy. The room is clean. The shower is strong. It is only few minutes away by car for "turtle watching and sardine run" - beautiful and once in a lifetime experience! I think 2hr drive by car to whale shark watching in Oslob.

United StatesWould have been nice to have a room safe.
Location was secluded and quiet. Restaurant was on site and the only option but the food was well prepared and served in a timely manner. The ocean in front was not sandy so reef shoes are a must. Watch out for urchins as they are out there. The pool was clean and fairly big. there is a dive shop on site.

IsraelIt depends on the type of the vacation, but the hotel is a little bit far from the main city, and in order to get to the hotel you need a ride, but it’s really pretty and it’s nice to disconnect from everything so I recommend.

CanadaThe road going in is a bit rough but not a deal breaker. Rooms are spacious but the bathrooms are a bit on the tight side.
Wild Orchid really worked well for us as it was away from the touristy Panagsama Beach. The resort is very new and located on the northern tip of Moalboal. The rooms are spacious with lovely ocean views and the beds are comfortable. There is a good size pool and a fully equipped dive shop with brand new gear. The staff are all very kind and helpful. Strong wi-fi throughout the property. Food is delicious but could be just a bit more varied.

CanadaThe remoteness and the drive way.
The food was acceptable and prepared as we like. The location was a bit remote , which was unexpected. The driveway was significantly scary on our arrival, we got a feeling of going into a down graded facility. We were a bit surprised by what it actually was. We did enjoy the quiet and tranquility of the place as we settled in.
