Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomMy second night I was in a standard room, AC did not work well and the room was loud as its next to the parking with all of the bikes. I would pay the extra and stay in a deluxe room.
There was no standard room available when I checked in so I was upgraded to the deluxe, the rooms look like chocolate hills, very spacious and clean and good AC. They have a WhatsApp group and lots of social events going on from group dinners to drinks at sunset. It’s a great way of meeting people

United KingdomWalls so thin that it almost felt like glamping as you could hear everything that went on outside and was woken up by cockerels that cockledoodledoo and dogs barking throughout the night. We just wore earphones or earplugs to sleep and still got a decent nights sleep. Aircon leaked all over the floor and TV making it slippy and potentially an electrical safety hazard which was reported on the first day. We were told an engineer was going to come and fix it but didn’t happen during our stay which was a shame! A bit of a journey away from the main bit on alona beach but staff were very helpful with providing well priced tuktuks😊
Rooms were big and modern, cool that they look like the chocolate hills! Pool great and right outside room. Staff lovely and very helpful. Loved the vegan restaurant - great value for money & really tasty! Love that they offer yoga

United KingdomThe food was great but the portions were a little small.
The place was very attractive and they have a restaurant area in the middle of the donut shaped pool which was sweet. The staff were sweet, polite and helpful and there is a very laidback vibe to the place, no noisy guests at night. The beach nearby was beautiful and reasonably clean, the hostel runs a beach clean up session each week which fits with their vegan eco ethos.

Hong KongThe bathroom was so worn out and badly designed. It was shared with the room next door. Neighbors sometimes forget to unlock the door. And sometimes the lock didn’t work. There were huge gaps under both doors. I had an unpleasant experience the neighbor next door trying to film me under the gap while I was taking a shower. I hope the property will deal with these door problems to prevent similar situations from happening again. Had to pay with cash for the room, was a little inconvenient.
The dorm room was big with 3 beds. There was no ac, only 2 fans. It took me a while getting used to the temperature. Night was okay, but daytime in the room was slightly hot. Overall it was a lovely stay for great value of money. The staff were lovely and helpful, always took care of my needs. I had lots of fun taking freediving courses which came with free yoga sessions. The free ice bath was cool. And the restaurant was grand with flavorful vegan food and delicious smoothies.

SpainKind of far from Alona Beach if you don't drive a motorbike (more than 1 hour walk). No lockers in the shared rooms or privacy curtains on the beds. There was nowhere to plug in my phone near the bed. Bathroom was rundown and a bit dirty, especially the walls. The bathroom was also shared with the dorm room next door so you had to remember to lock both doors in the bathroom or someone from the other room could walk in while you were in there. Lots of little dead bugs in the pool. I wasn't given the wifi password but a girl in my dorm said the wifi didn't really work in the room anyway.
Really nice facilities: the rooms are very cozy, there's swimming pool, great bar area, etc. Staff are friendly, and so were the guests. There are three newborn kittens and their cat mom living in the reception area which are adorable. About a 10 minute walk to White Beach and from there you can walk along the sand to Dumaluan Beach. They offer activities like freediving courses and yoga classes. Great value for the price.

United KingdomIt was incredibly hot in the dorm rooms with only 2 fans. There was cold water only in the shower. The bathroom is shared between 2 adjoining rooms, so people often forget to unlock both doors, so you have to knock on the wall to ask them to unlock your door to the bathroom. No toiletries or towels are provided. It was fairly clean, they clean the toilet and emptied the bin every day but the floor got a little sandy, so maybe they could sweep every day as well
The staff were very friendly and helpful. They arranged a tricycle driver for me for a day and gave me some quotes for tours. The pool is nice and refreshing. It's a chilled hostel. There's an onsite restaurant but it only serves vegan food. The food was actually quite nice and not too expensive. There are restaurants around the area that serve meat though. It's not far from white beach. They provide free water refills if you ask at the restaurant. I really enjoyed my stay here

SerbiaThe noisy company had a party at the pool after its closure (btw the pool closes at 10 pm as per the personnel’s notice, we were waken up at 3am by the crowd having the party at the pool, and we did not sleep till 5). No one from the hotel’s administration did nothing to stop it. That was a really frustrating experience. Also it would be great to have a fridge. We knew it was not there, so it did not influence the total score, but still, it’s a kind of need, let it be with the higher price.
Almost everything was good, except for some disadvantages.

United KingdomVery thin walls so could hear everything outside, rotten egg smell in room every evening - think that was because our room was next to communal showers/restrooms. Didn’t realise the restaurant was only plant-based food, no other restaurants walking distance. Have to get trike/hire a moped to get to Alona Beach.
Friendly staff, nice pool area and offers yoga/ice baths/meditation. Walking distance to beach.

AustraliaWould only take payment via cash or PayPal which was not noted in the hotel description anywhere when booking. Of course, I wasn't carrying that much cash for staying 7 nights, which wasn't an issue, they let me pay the day after arrival; however this then cost me over 700 pesos more in fees to pay via PayPal or 700 pesos to withdraw cash from ATM due to foreign debit card. Would like to have been aware when booking. The Aircon in the room wasn't great, whilst it did cool the room, it was only marginally better than outside, and as someone not used to the heat and humidity I struggled a little. They did provide a fan upon request which helped. The rooms must not be No Smoking, as it stunk of cigarette smoke. They came and sprayed disinfectant in the room and on the walls, which did help. The restaurant on-site was Vegan, no mention of that in the hotel description either. I don't mind that so much, but again, I would like to have known when deciding to book. The resort is about 10 min Tuk Tuk ride from Alona (around 250 pesos) which seemed to be where everything happens. Despite the above, it was a very pleasant stay.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The pool was very nice and close to the front door! There were a couple of restaurants and grocery / convenience stores within 7 minutes walk. White Beach was only 10 mins walk.
