At first it gave the impression that it will be a staycation, i.e. away and far from the usual loud and noisy Alona beach, no TV which i like and minimize distraction. However, it was very close to Kamaya Cafe and there was a live band during our stay. We were trying to rest in prep for the full Marathon we were runing, but the noise was too much! It ended around past 10pm so very limited window to really rest.

The place is not hard to find, decent location away from usual travel go to places. Staff was very good and receptive. Hotel set up was zen-like, pool was very clean though not used extensively due to diving sessions during our stay

The pool could have seats to lounge on. I did see them one day but not the entire stay. It was also a bit noisy from time to time with the plane flying overhead, cars rushing across the street, or dogs barking outside.

I loved the aesthetic (all the greenery and plants, indoor decor, the architecture, and the overall design and ambience), the eco-friendly products, how easy it was to manage diving, the super helpful and accommodating staff (helping with our bags and drying our dive gear and also accommodating an extended stay in our room), and proximity to restaurants with tasty food. It was great to be away from the crowds. Also enjoyed the clean and well-maintained pool. Overall a lovely stay.

The staff and restaurant and room and bed were excellent!!!! The property and room were very clean. 24-hour guard. restaurant food was amazing!!! Excellent Bed!!! Will definitely stay again!!! Also experienced diving for the first time. Our dive instructor Jim and other crew with Haka dive company were so patient and accommodating!!!

We stayed at Moana Resort and dived with Haka Dive Centre in March 2025 — an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The resort was peaceful, clean, and just steps away from the dive centre — super convenient after long dive days. Rooms were spacious, had strong A/C, and a private balcony for drying gear. Staff were friendly and helpful, and daily cleaning was a plus. Haka’s team were professional, responsive, and helped us plan the perfect itinerary. Our instructor Andrei was calm, intuitive, and helped me build confidence during my Advanced Open Water course. Diving was smooth, well-organized, and full of marine life. The boat crew took great care of us — even serving fresh fruit and banana bread after dives. A magical dolphin encounter was the cherry on top. Highly recommend Moana and Haka — can’t wait to come back! Serene & Catherine

The location isn’t ideal—you’ll definitely need a scooter to get anywhere. Unfortunately, the quality of the services organized through reception left a lot to be desired. They helped us rent a scooter, but it was very old and worn down, yet they still charged full price. We also booked a day tour through them, which came with a guide who barely spoke English and a van that was in terrible condition. The island-hopping tour they arranged was the worst of all. We spent nearly three weeks in the Philippines and had plenty of boat experiences, but this one was so loud I had to cover my ears for the entire two-hour ride. It was honestly unbearable. When we brought all of this up afterward, the staff showed no accountability—no refund, no apology, no indication they’d stop using those agencies. Just silence. Really disappointing.

The hotel is brand new, and it shows. Everything feels fresh and well-designed, with stylish decor and quality furniture throughout. The swimming pool is a highlight—beautifully maintained and open until late if you're in the mood for a midnight swim under the stars. There's also a great restaurant right next to the pool that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We had breakfast there every day, and it was consistently delicious. Our room was very comfortable, with a cozy bed, great pillows, effective air conditioning, and a lovely balcony. The bathroom was spacious, with quality soaps and a great shower.

Excellent location slightly away from the hubbub of Alona Beach, but close enough for easy access. Excellent cafe, Kamaya, serving great food associated with Moana. Diving was highly professional with high quality, well maintained equipment and accomplished staff. Dive boat was spacious and fresh, good quality snacks and lunch provided. Dive guides were expert divers with detailed local knowledge, helpful, kind and fun. This was the best dive experience we had in the Philippines and would highly recommend Haka Diving. The staff at Moana could not have been more helpful, friendly and well informed. Advice about laundry, massage, transport, local information was always readily available and just what was needed. Moana Resort is very highly recommended by our family.

No privacy in the swimming pool, since there are outsiders passing through the area to go upstairs for the restaurant. Also, the front “gate” should be closed so that hotel guest feel more comfortable exposing themselves in the pool… Pool is used by the dive center in the morning, so hotel guests can’t use it. Extremely clean rooms, friendly staff.

Cons: no privacy in the rooms (or swimming pool), since there is a restaurant open for outsiders across the pool. People enter through the same access of the hotel guests, and eat staring at the same level as the upper rooms. You cannot have the curtains open at any time!! Pro: super friendly staff, you can rent a scooter and book tours with them. Nice and modern design interiors

We really enjoyed our stay at Moana Dive resort. Super nice Hotel, loved the interior/exterior. Nice and clean. And the staff is so friendly with the best service. Kamaya restaurant have really nice food and the best Coffee i drank in Philippines 🙏 Haka diving is well organized and great instructors. I really enjoyed my diving day. We are so Happy with our stay and can highly recommend this beautiful Hotel. Its also easy to take a tuk-tuk in to the city center.

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel! The room was very clean, with new furniture and modern plumbing. Housekeeping was done every other day, which was more than sufficient – they changed towels and bed linen regularly. The restaurant was simply outstanding – delicious food, great presentation, and a welcoming atmosphere. The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and always ready to help with anything, including our early check-in. We also rented a motorbike from the hotel, which was very convenient, and there was on-site parking available. A nice bonus – you can watch planes coming in for landing, which was an exciting experience! The only thing we didn’t get to try was the diving center – we just didn’t have enough time for everything! Would definitely stay here again!
