The cottages are amazing. It's homey and the feels of being in the countryside made it more like home. Reminds me of the hotels in Bali. Close to the river and they have a river deck where you can spend some quiet time while looking at the river.

A beautiful resort surrounded by nature on the banks of a river. The rooms have every comfort except the AC, but you don't need it as it's cool under the trees. Great restaurant selection of plates and drinks.

Outside of your room it is very noisy. This is something that is out of the hands of the place, but for future guest it is important to know. Bring earplugs so you can sleep through very heavy rain, roosters making noise in the morning, a lot of barking dogs, scooters etc. Also our portable battery to charge our camera's and phones was great because of several times we had no power. Again, this is not the fault of the Fox and The Firefly Cottages, and you CAN prepare yourself for this. The place is very worth visiting.

The location is amazing and so are the staff. Everyone from the people at the desk, the restaurant, cleaning and I need to espacially name our suptourguide Promen. Really book a suptour, it was great! The drinks at the restaurant were also very good. I recommend the bowls in the morning, the honey calamansi juice (if you like lemon drinks like me) and the coconut mojito. The environment of the hole place and everthing around it has a great vibe, all the trees, the river, the people and also all of the things you can do like the very great waterfalls and the chocolate hills.

Only minor was no AC in rooms, just fans. It was ok but I’m surprised given their standards that they don’t have AC, hence why I dropped a notch on the comfort review.

Beautiful property, lovely authentic design and lush plants everywhere. We did the evening SUP to see the fire flies which was amazing, so atmospheric and the staff were the best. The restaurant was a great positive, no need to go anywhere else, order your food before the tour and it’s waiting for you on your return. So glad we booked this place.

It was a nice experience having to stay near the Loboc river. I especially enjoyed doing the Stand Up Paddle and watching the fireflies at night. It was very memorable. The breakfast was also good.

We had to stay a little extra alert to make sure lizards and critters didn’t sneak into the room or our bags, but this wasn’t a major issue!

We had such a great stay here— the staff made it so easy for us to plan our days (including a SUP firefly tour!), and the food in the on-site restaurant was delicious and healthy. We stayed in a very cozy cottage that overlooked the rice fields, but we also enjoyed getting to cool off with a swim in the river on the other side of the property. Such a great spot!

Location may be a downside for some. Not super close to other restaurants so unless you have a bike you might be stuck eating here every night (food is good but a bit pricy).

Loved our stay here, it's in a lovely local area of Bohol - for me I preferred it compared to Panglao but for some people they may feel isolated. The premise is beautiful, lovely pockets of greenery and beauty. Staff were great and friendly, super easy to organize tours/rent a bike and DIY something yourself. There was an eco responsible attitude about the tours and activities which I appreciated alot. Food was very good at the restaurant:)

Great location right by the Loboc River and nearby the center of Loboc, a small and peaceful village. I definitely recommend renting a scooter while staying here — it makes exploring the area much easier and more enjoyable. The room in the main building was much more spacious and comfortable, with far fewer bugs. Were beautifully decorated and featured private open-air bathroom, which added a unique charm to the stay. The food was great — I ended up repeating my favorite dish, the Spaghetti aglio e olio, because it was just that good! Drinks and breakfast were also delicious. It’s a lovely spot to relax and a great base to explore the Loboc River area. Watching the fireflies at night was one of the most magical moments of our trip. There are also plenty of alternative tour options available just down the street from the hotel, which is very convenient. Highly recommended this relaxing and green stay at Loboc River!

We stayed the first night in one of the cottages and we felt the space was quite small, and the lighting attracted a lot of insects and i got bug bites, from ants and mosquitoes. For those who aren’t used to this kind of rustic setup, it’s good to be aware in advance.

The food was great — I ended up repeating my favorite dish, the Spaghetti aglio e olio, because it was just that good! Mozzarella sticks with spicy mango sauce were very yummy!! This place was a dream. Loved everything about it, the bedroom, the outside bathroom was beautiful. All the surroundings are perfect, so much nature, it has a great river deck. And I had so much fun paddling down the river. The food is pretty good at the bar and the staff was so friendly and helpful. Definitely would go back.

There was nothing we didn’t like. Everything met or exceeded our expectations.

We honestly loved everything about Fox & Firefly. The peaceful location, surrounded by nature, the cozy and clean cottages, the amazing food, and the super friendly staff—it was all perfect. It felt like a hidden gem where we could really disconnect and enjoy Bohol in a unique way. One of the highlights of our entire trip was the nighttime paddleboarding excursion to see the fireflies—absolutely magical!

We love nature but the walkways had too many leaves in the way - we know this is something small and funny but not ideal especially at night. The riverside area was also gorgeous and unique but it was a shame there was litter and garbage on the riverside ruining the special feeling. For the information for future guests, the place is generally not wheelchair-accessible given the small winding paths around the grounds and dense foliage, as well as the upstairs restaurant.

Facilities were unique and provided a one of a kind experience and views. A very special place tucked away on the Loboc river! The staff were all warm and welcoming and provided a lovely personal touch to their services. The restaurant had a great menu showcasing food across the Philippines. You truly feel in touch with nature, especially on the riverside area where you can admire birds and bats at dusk! There were firefly river tours offered too.

Nothing, everything is perfect

The location is great in font of Locob River, but mainly the feeling when you are here seems like you are in a natural paradise: the cottages are immersed in the plants, you can hear birds singing, fireflies fly around if you wake up at night. The hotel has a great restaurant that offers excellent dishes (also vegan and gluten free) , the staff is very kind, many excursions and activities are available, including yoga classes and massages. What else could you be asking for?

We did not like the restaurant too much - quite expensive, the food was kind of fusion, was missing more local flavours (local dishes were sold-out every time when we tried to order these).

Really nice accommodation with separate cottages. feeling like living in the jungle. We had second floor room with balcony and view over rice field. Room had everything you need, very nice partly opened bathroom. We enjoyed morning walk village tour with local guide, who lives in the village and so you get real insights to local life.
