Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWe ended up at the waterfront suite which sounded wonderful, until we had to navigate the 127 steps at least one roundtrip per day. For some reason, there were a lot of mosquitoes in our suite. The beach is not swim- or laying on- friendly.
Interesting, perched on a cliff on the water. The gardens are lush. There are a lot of tranquil places where anyone could wander. Sunset views are amazing. The included breakfast selection is good. The restaurant menu is substantial and the food is pretty good. Staff members were helpful. Richard, our van driver and “tour guide” did a fantastic job! Concierge was very helpful in arranging our trips and tours.

United KingdomFirst, steps down the cottage. It was very far from the main building but we already know about it so it was alright but I just want you all to be mindful of it when booking. Second downside of it all is there was no way to communicate to the main reception for anything you need. You may need to ring their number from your very own mobile phone or go up a thousand stairs to talk to them. Lastly, the jurassic park mosquitoes that attack during sun down. Make sure to bring off lotion. Mosquito zapper is also provided for the room. This is also a given as the forest was lush surrounding it.
The property was easy to find as it was just along the road and staff are happy to sort out issues with the booking. Our cottage was huge, clean and could easily accommodate all 5 of us. It was comfortable and temperature inside the cottage was cool as aircon and 2 fans are available to regulate it. Small fridge, kitchenwares, water dispenser are also provided. The cottage was peaceful and with a rewarding view of the sunset. Very close to the beach.

Fantasy lodge stands true to its name. Located close to the beach between Maolboal and Oslob, this place offers wide range of facilities. One can enjoy Kawa bath, spa, a swimming pool and good food while enjoying the beautiful view. The staff are professional and are always available to help. Rooms are spacious and comfortable.

United StatesThe check-in process proved to be "ugh!" as I had already furnished all necessary information during the booking. While presenting a photo ID is understandable, the concierge insisted on a somewhat cumbersome additional step. I was required to connect to the Wi-Fi to scan a QR code for a self-check-in, during which I had to provide redundant details such as my full name (once again), age, gender, and nationality - the same information was also requested for my mom and brother. When I inquired about the necessity of the information, the response was met with a perplexed expression. Within the rooms, there were bath towels and pool towels available, but there was no washcloths nor blankets (bed sheets it is!). Lastly, the location and entrance posed a challenge, situated on a blind curve. Parking was restricted, with only three spots available, two of which were already occupied by their service vehicles. Oh, by the way, we stayed for 3 nights at this place - their food was nothing special.
My mom thoroughly enjoyed her delightful kawa bath! We were assigned Room 6, which was a good sized room that featured two sliding doors opening to a balcony with a view of the pool. The premises were well-maintained.

AustraliaWhile we loved the natural aspect of not having an air conditioner, it would have been nice to have the option of air conditioning. But we really didn't need it!
The grounds were amazing, the pool, the different chill-out areas, the oceanfront deck. We loved our room (The Dome) and the views from the balcony and the bathroom. We loved the Kawa Baths with essential oils. The food was always delicious!!

JapanReally loved the stay but the the electricity kept going down when we were using the sauna in the room. Also warm water didn’t come out. We wanted to do the sauna and the jacuzzi at the same time but in the end, we had to give up the jacuzzi for the electric problem. I went up and down the narrow steps to call the staff for help several times, it would nice to have a phone in the room.
Beautiful and quiet sweet lodge. Definitely recommend the Kawa bath. Staffs were very friendly and helpful. The view is fantastic and you will enjoy the peaceful atmosphere with birds chirping.

PhilippinesOne aspect that was disappointing was the honeymoon setup. We had expected a simple yet romantic arrangement, but it turned out to be quite basic. The addition of a few scattered petals on the bed hardly justified the extra 500 php charge. I cannot recommend it based on this experience. Please check the photo for reference. Another letdown occurred during breakfast at the restaurant. The staff there seemed rather unpleasant, and although this perception may vary from person to person, the overall atmosphere was far from welcoming. Considering it was our honeymoon, the lack of a warm and friendly environment was disheartening. However, we acknowledge and appreciate one staff member who brightened our day—the person who delivered our food to our room. He was extremely polite and had a constant smile on his face. Despite the blandness of the food, his exceptional service made a positive impact on our experience. It is worth noting that the issue of bland food might be subjective. Unfortunately, most of the dishes we ordered did not meet our expectations in terms of flavor, resulting in us being unable to finish them. I do not recommend the Ceasar salad.
The Deluxe Bungalow was truly worth the price. Not only did it offer a breathtakingly beautiful view, but the facilities within our room were exceptional. The inclusion of a jacuzzi and sauna added an extra touch of luxury and relaxation to our stay.

NetherlandsSea was rough and beach very rocky, so not great if you are looking for a beach resort destination. Lodge is build to be out a and explore. Location quite remote, but perfect for a pit stop if you’re traveling around Cebu island.
We booked ‘The Dome’ or the Deluxe Suite with an incredible sea view: one of the most special rooms I’ve ever stayed in. Pool was great, restaurant was good, nice list of activities. Easy hop on to and off from Ceres bus liner.
