Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsIf you want to go to Moalboal (or one of its beaches), you need to get a tricycle to get there (and walk to the road first, which takes about 5-10 minutes from the lodge). We already knew this when we booked.
Absolutely fantastic location with scenic views of the mangroves and the sea. The staff is very nice and helpful, cooking delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner for a fair price. Simon, the host, is also very friendly and hospitable, explaining what can be done in and around the Island. He also arranged airport pickup and we were able to book a tour for canyoneering (Kawasan Falls). The kayaking at the lodge was fun too, and special, because we got a guided tour through the mangroves. For book lovers / readers, there are many places to just sit in the shade somewhere on the island and enjoy the view while reading. The Island is a bit secluded, away from busy roads. The lodges themselves are simple, but very clean. The water that is provided on the Island (through pitchers and glasses) is safe to drink and plentiful. Plenty of wildlife (birds, lizards, crabs) is in the premises which is delightful to see. I would definitely want to come back someday.

Does it spark joy? Oh Yes, Eskapo Verde definitely sparks joy. This serene little island of beauty is just on outskirts of Moalboal, in Badian. A short ride from Jollibee. The accommodation is really unique. No air con, but because of their design the fan is more than sufficient. I slept the most comfortable nights of my holiday here. It is surrounded by beautiful vegetation and perches over the sea. If you're a Supernatural fan and know how Heaven works there.... This would be my heaven

The path through nature to get around is great, you can see and hear many birds and admire so many beautiful plants and trees. The staff is all kind and available for help and suggestions!

PortugalAmazing place with such a special location! It's a real gem, providing a very different view to what you'd normally get in Moalboal. It's located in the mangrove forest and slightly outside of the town (15 min or so on a scooter), but it felt amazing going back to this beautiful calming environment after the chaos of driving around and sightseeing Cebu. You can go on a kayak tour around the mangrove forest which I highly recommend - we loved this experience! The rooms are not luxury, but still a very cute cabin style and are very clean. Each cabin is surrounded by trees, so it feels like you're in the middle of the jungle. And the food - the best we had during our Philippines travel, super tasty and well priced. The only thing I'd improve is adding some light duvets to the rooms (it was raining a lot when we were there and I tend to get cold at night easily), but light sheets are standard in most of the hotels in the Philippines. They were very kind to give me extra sheets though to cover up at night.

GermanyThe location of the hotel was perfect for us as it is slightly out of Moalboal and more towards Badian, which was Not a Problem as the hotel rents bikes. Staff and owners are extremely friendly and helpful. Well worth it!

Highly recommended for a peaceful getaway in a romantic tropical atmosphere! The lodges are beautifully nestled in the heart of the mangrove jungle coast – an adventure in itself! The rooms are clean, stunning, and feel brand new. Breakfast was fresh and made with local ingredients. You can spot native wildlife such as colorful birds, lizards, and even fireflies – a true paradise for nature lovers. The staff was always helpful, making our stay even more unforgettable.

SingaporeThe location is quite far from the main restaurant area, so you end up relying on the hotel's dining options or traveling to Moalboal. Transportation isn’t very convenient—we waited by the roadside for quite a while before finding someone willing to take us to our desired destinations. I’d suggest planning your activities ahead of time and arranging transportation in advance to avoid any hassle.
The place is absolutely stunning—photos don't do justice to the peaceful atmosphere of this hotel. Every detail is thoughtfully curated, and everything is impeccably maintained. I loved the experience and the unique feeling of being "in the heart of nature." The food is soooo fresh!

RomaniaSuch a wonderful place, we loved everything about it! The location is perfect - so peaceful, surrounded by nature, well maintained and a short ride away from Moalboal. It was a bliss to be away from the chaos and noise of the cities. The cabin was lovely and clean, with a nice little terrace. There was no A/C but the fan was good enough for us. The property is quite large, you can walk around, chill on a hammock or rent kayaks or paddle boards if you prefer a water activity. The food at their restaurant was great, so we didn’t even bother to look for another restaurant. The view from there is also very beautiful. We had the breakfast included and I loved that we were able to eat it at any time of the day. So if you have an early tour, you can have your breakfast for lunch or dinner :) The owners and the staff are incredibly nice, helpful, friendly and generous. They gave us detailed instructions on how to get there + sooo many useful tips that made our trip better. They made us feel very welcome and they did their best to help us with everything we needed, always with a smile on their face - a true example of hospitality. I can’t recommend this place enough, you won’t regret going there. 10/10! Thank you for everything and keep up the great work!!

United KingdomNothing really. Maybe the only downside was not having an A/C in the room, some nights we needed it although it does not get that hot.
Simon, Alain and the staff are beyond helpful. They booked us everything and gave really good tips about the activities and the local culture. Food in the restaurant is definitely the best I've had in Philippines. We liked how peaceful and quite it is here. The location is a bit outside of Moalboal but also really close which brings all the peace in the world while not missing out on anything.
