Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesIt was just SUPER cold in the room all the time. I’m beginning to think that’s just sort of the way it is in Cusco, so that might not be unique to this hotel.
Great location, super helpful staff, hot water in the shower, hot water bottle in bed at night!

ItalyA bit more care towards some small aspects would have made the experince better. The first room we've been into had a skylight right above the bed, with no curtain, made it difficult to sleep past 5am Despite other reviews, Breakfast was nothing special, coffee was cold, not a lot of variety of food.
The staff really made the difference, everyone was kind and super welcoming! The beds are huge and cozy

EcuadorTv didn’t work two beds had broken legs. No window in bathroom (no ventilation), no phone as an intercom to the office in case you need something you have to go out to request something. Price per person $90 was too high for such service and location it is on a hill from the center of city . They would not replenish the toiletries. Breakfast was good but would get cold quickly cause dinning room is cold
Clean, clean sheets, towels. Staff friendly and willing to help. Diego the overnight host has great customer service skills, it was clean every day! They would change sheets. Breakfast was included.

AustraliaBedside lights would be better. There were none in my room. Septic smell in room was not pleasant, expecially in lower level rooms. While close to the plaza, the steps are physically challenging, especially for first day at altitude. For inexperienced travellers trying to deal with altitude adjustment, San Blas, while quaint, is probably not the ideal choice. Streets are very narrow - When I left my room for the airport, my taxi was delayed in laneways by other vehicles, which made timing a little stressful. While this is not a fault with the hotel, travellers may appreciate this knowledge for time-sensitive matters.
Breakfast was good. Had option of cooked eggs and or bread with cheese and meat, fruit yogurt, fresh fruit. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were very comfortable, with heater, great bed, bright and colourful. Shower was good - hot Good security with gates to road kept locked, but quickly opened by staff when requested. Good value for money.

BelgiumIn the first room we had, there was quite some mold in the bathroom. When we notified the staff they immediately gave us another room, they were very helpful. The second room was better but still a little bit moldy. Our room was located on the ground floor and all of the windows faced the inside garden and passage, which means we could never really open the curtains because everybody who passed by coold look inside very easily.
The location of the hotel was excellent and the staff were very nice.

BulgariaWe had to call someone in order to open the main gate after 11 pm. I cannot say I didn’t like it, but we didn’t have roaming, so if the internet from the accommodation was not working we wouldn’t have been able to enter.
We were welcomed very warmly. The room was very clean and nice.

CanadaIt doesn’t mean it’s a bad place or that it bothered me, not at all, I’m only mentioning a few things that would help me while reading reviews. Location: It’s a little walk for Plaza de Armas, but what I want to mention is that no taxi will drop you directly at the hotel. Also, there are steep stairs to reach the place. If it’s your first day, take it easy. If you have a big luggage, you’ll break a sweat. Stains: There was stains pretty much everywhere, either on the comforter, the curtains or on the walls. Not because it’s not cleaned, just stained. Ants: I had tiny ants in my room, on the floor mainly but also on the drawers and tables. Like I said: they are tiny. Noise: I could hear the people below me talking when they came back at 11p.m, just a heads up if you want complete privacy.
As I always mention, my reviews are according to the type of traveller I am and related to my expectations when booking specific places. It doesn’t mean my review will fit with your needs. What I liked about this property: Staff: I’m always looking for places with a great staff, to me it’s one of the most important things. They are polite, welcoming and will help you if needed. Cleaning: They did clean the room everyday even though it wasn’t necessary for me, but just to let you know. Breakfast: I didn’t eat any breakfast during my stay, but one is included. Location: Alright, can be a good thing or a bad thing. For me, I wanted to be a little further of Plaza de Armas, so location was relatively quiet for me. Cold: Personally it didn’t matter at all, but some people mentioned it. It gets colder at night yes and there’s no heat. But … but … I can’t believe people complained because they gave you a lot of very warm blankets. It’s kinda nice. Wifi: Really good, one of the best I had in Peru.

ItalyRooms cleaning can be improved. Same for breakfast: very slow and always the same. You can also add some chairs, couches or hammocks in the garden to chill out. The spa is not recommended: dirty and slow service.
Rooms are spacious and bright. You have a heater which is good for the cold Cusco nights. Very hot shower all the time. Free tea and fruits available. Nice garden and open air spaces.
