Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. The location was good, close to parks and transpiration. The host was extremely helpful with recommendations of areas to visit and where to eat, and made us feel very welcome. Good breakfast!

A bit far to walk from restaurants and other things.
Very friendly lady, Lourdes, who worked there made us feel so welcome. Double room was nice and clean and had a good bed. Very calm and safe place. Breakfast was generous!

We were very grateful to have breakfast included but some of the ingredients were not good quality
This was a good place to stay during our visit to Lima. The host was extremely helpful with recommendations of areas to visit and where to eat, and made us feel very welcome. The bedroom and bathroom could use a few improvements/general upkeep but overall we were happy to stay here!

- The complimentary hot breakfast (very nice if you have time for it!) starts at 8 am, which is a bit late if you want to do a day tour that leaves early. - I stayed with five other guests with whom I had to share a single bathroom. - The living/dining room is lovely, I wish I could have used it more to relax, but there was always somebody watching TV, etc. so I stayed in my room more than I wished.
Great location! It was very affordable. Uli was super attentive on WhatsApp. She arranged a taxi ride and a tour of Miraflores and Lima for me. She also gave me tips about where to buy grocery and introduced me to a great cevicheria. Potable water and coffee are available all day. A clothesline, drying rack and plenty of space to hang your clothes are available.

It’s very dark in the front room/breakfast area as the blinds were being kept shut.
Very safe area. We had a big twin room at the back next to the little garden. The staff is lovely, very helpful! And the breakfast was good too,

Uli and Piero really are kind, engaged, and hardworking hosts. This is more than just payment for service. They really make sure you are taken care of if you let them know your needs. We need to leave early in am for our flight-- they are going to pack us 'to 'go' breakfast. The Harmony Inn location is good for adults- quick walk to Miraflores, decent walk to beach/ Barranco.

Not at all a problem, but perhaps it needs to mentioned so other peoble know, I don't think the room was cleaned at all during my stay. Again, in my case it wasn't an issue at all since everything was really nice and clean to begin with, but if you expect your sheets to be changed everyday, this is not that kind of place. I had some issues with the toilet the first day, but Lourdes and David helped without hesitation and I'm sure that if I had asked for the room to be swept, it would have been done in a heartbeat.
Lourdes really needs to be mentioned here! She is such a lovely person! David is also really sweet! I never got to meet the owner, but these two people were so nice and welcoming to me the entire stay. The breakfast was good with coffee, tea, freshly made juice, bread, home made jams and eggs. I left early the last day and they prepared me a little take away breakfast. The location might be a bit far from Miraflores center but definitely within walking distance. On the upside it's probably calmer and less noisy than staying in the very center. My room was nice and clean with a comfortable bed and private bathroom, but it's not soundproofed at all. It was possible to hear everything going on in the corridor outside the room. Great communication prior to the arrival and I felt very safe.

More counter space in the bathroom would be nice and hooks or bars for towels. A few ants etc were noted.
Very friendly and accessible host. Staff was also nice. Good breakfast. We stayed a couple nights in the family room. Uli allowed us to arrive late and had a driver meet us at the airport. Uli also gave us lots of recommendations of things to do in the area. Communicated well via WhatsApp. Had access to the kitchen. Filtered water and tea provided.

There are a few limitations of the facilities, mainly the one bathroom shared among the guests. That means there is sometimes a wait if someone is taking a shower. Also, most of the staff do not speak English, so there were a few miscommunications, but they are so friendly and helpful that we worked through it. I will probably stay closer to the action in Miraflores in future trips, as several airport shuttles don't service this area of Miraflores.
The stay was good, in fact so good that we came back for another stay. The staff are friendly, and they provide a key to the outer gate during your stay, so it's secure and convenient. The area feels safe, and there are multiple grocery stores and restaurants within a short walk.

This place is very clean and comfortable. The hosts are super friendly and helpful. The location is about a 20 minute walk to Kennedy Park which I liked because it is away from all the busyness of Miliflores. I would highly recommend this hostel.
